Post Vanity plates in NY?

Just got my new WRX from Action Subaru in Troy over the weekend, and am toying with the idea of getting vanity plates for her. The dealer had no idea how much they are, nor does anyone else I've asked.

Thanks, and I love the car (-:

p.s. Where's all the snow!!??? )-:

You can order them online at the NYS DMV webpage. $25/year and $30 to setup the new plate. I have AWD 4ME on my XT6.

Thanks Paisan... sorry I didn't go through your friend down south a bit, but I got a good deal around here for the exact car I wanted!

no problemo, he would have had to order it anyway. I just don't like to see people screwed over on price if they don't have to.

Cool... I'm sure I could have saved a few $$ if I'd ordered it, but for the little extra I paid, it was worth it to drive it home that day.

So when's the next NY meet?

Not the sales dept, but he said he had a big issues with the service / repair dept.

He has a Geo Prism which his wife dented. The car only needed a new hood. BTW, he was my college roommate at RPI. Naturally, he went to Action Chevy because it's only 2 miles up the hill. But, the service dept. gave him a bunch of crap about what needs to be fixed and what doesn't need to be fixed, and tried to charge extra for things he didn't need etc. etc. He apperantly got really mad at them. I wasn't there, so I don't know the whole detail.

I got my RS from Goldstein Subaru on Central Ave. in Colonie. They've been good so far.

Hmm... well, the subaru service dept. is pretty much separate from the Chevy dept. There are two lifts that are only used for Subarus, and two service guys who only work on Subarus. I talked with both of them and they're really nice guys. Just hoping I don't have to get too friendly with them (-:

I've heard good things about Goldstein. Almost bought an RS there a few years back. I would have gone back, but Action beat them to the punch. Oh well... I'm still a happy customer (-:

Hey, I was on Hoosick St. on Saturday afternoon. I didn't see any WRX at Action Subaru / Chevrolet. I guess I missed it. How did they treat you at that dealer? My roommate had a big problem with them. Sorry, this is way off topic.

I delt with Bill Osher, who was a nice guy. The sales manager was a bit pushy, but I think they're supposed to be.

Only problem I've had so far was that they forgot to give me the keyless entry for my WRX and I couldn't shut the dang alarm off after I popped the trunk. What problem did your roommate have, if I may ask?

My Aunt and Uncle take their SVX to Goldsteins. They actually replaced the rear diffy and a piece of the tranny out of warranty for free for them.

Well, I hope you enjoy your WRX, Tim. I love my RS. I don't think I want to let this one go for a long time unless I start making more $$$ to be able to afford an Audi S4 or something.
