After the axle snapping, rainouts, etc. I went to the TMP yesterday with my 04 US STi GT35R powered 96 Impreza and everything worked perfectly. I had less than 10 passes on the car before yesterday and none with the new shifter so I screwed some runs up pretty badly. I missed third three times in a row, 4th once, and I'm still really slow getting into 5th which is hurting my 1/4 trap and ET, but I'll get there.
Bottom line I had a blast. The runs I didn't screw up horribly were 10.4-10.5 and 128-131 traps. I just went into 5th slowly on all of them. I know the car has at least a 10.3 at 132 in it with better shifting into 5th. Once I can drive it better the boost will go up more. ![]() Thank you to my Innovative Tuning crew and: Ultimate Racing The Driveshaft Shop DCCD Pro Technafit Autronic In car of the best pass: YouTube - Innovative Tuning Subaru In Car 6.6 1/8, 10.4 1/4 mile pass 10.5 at 130 against a 10.6 at 127 muscle car. Awesome drag race (out of car): YouTube - Outside View Innovative Tuning 10.55 vs. 10.66 muscle car 6.9/10.7 pass. It was early in the day and not a great pass but funny to see a Z06 get OWNED (out of car): YouTube - InnTune - 10.70 There are more videos coming including the rest of this one: http://videos.streetfire.net/video/d...db014aa6d3.htm

Nobody on here seemed interested when we did rallies so I bagged that even though I have the most fun doing it.I decided to go a different route with this car. I street drive it and I want to get into lapping days and some road racing in the future. Most people seem fixated on dyno numbers and drag times so I decided to run it at the strip. Now people have another quantitative result of our work. The road racing and rally wins our customers have had don't seem to catch anyone's eye. I street tuned my car like I did the vast majority of the 2500 or so cars I've tuned over the years and comparing dyno numbers is silly anyways so a drag pass was the best option. That said, I did have fun dragging it and I'll likely drag it more next year, but I've been wanting to get into lapping days and some road racing for many years so I'm looking forward to that. I have no plans for a big turbo. Porting the stock intake and exhaust manifolds and throttle body as well as some aftermarket cams, valves, and maybe some head porting are in the future plans though. I don't like to guess how much power something is making, but you get the idea from the 105.9 trap in the eighth that it's making a good amount. We've built and I've tuned cars faster than it, but this one is mine and I'm very happy with it. ![]() ![]() 31 psi. I run 29-30 on the street so I barely turned it up at all from my daily tune. I need some seat time in the car first. Once I can drive it to its potential consistantly I'll turn the boost up. ![]() |

It's a long mod list boostinwrx since it's a swap and a lot went into it, but basically it's an 04 STi engine and driveline (minus WRX front axles) with UR GT35R kit, standalone etc. in a 96 Impreza. It's a little over 2800 + me.
I didn't know you were on here Fai! Thanks. Someone told me you sold your car, but that's why I don't believe everything I hear. Talk to you soon. Thanks guys! |
