I happen to subscribe to the theory that the EGT sensor mounting bungs used by most aftermarket uppipes do not allow the sensor to seat properly. This leads, according to my theory, to either a loose sensor or to sensor damage. There probably was a reason why the Service Manual cautioned that the EGT sensor must be oriented in a particular way in the OEM uppipe.
So does anyone know for a fact that the probe needs to be oriented a certain way? And if so, what way does it need to be put in?
I need help! I believe this is why my car is stuck in limp mode. Just ordered a new OEM EGT probe for it, will be in soon.
