I tried this mod on my old headlight. It was no good so I wanted to try. It works but is a PITA.
I had to put it in the oven for about 5 minutes. Pulled it apart, chipped the orange part out than reassembled.

I ran across these bulbs today on Hella's site... they'd work well with your "baked" HL:
"Magic Star Bulb sets: only yellow when they flash. More brilliance for the flasher lamps in white or clear-glass design. To prevent the innovative design of the clear-glass headlamps being spoilt by yellow bulbs in the flasher lamps, Hella now has bulbs available which only produce yellow light when they flash" That is... if you're into that kinda thing ![]() |

I tried this once, and I cracked the passenger side. not too visible.... but man! Boy is that seal hord to take off. I think I have a permanent fingerprint on the lense too from the hairdryer heat.... Maybe a second attempt is called for.... little scared tho.
I may even try the HIHO Oven Technique. Then, we'll have two bake boys. -Rich |
