Default reflash and warrenty

now i know that if they would see it reflashed they could deny a claim but my question is if i flashed to stage 1 would they have any reason to look at my ecu ?

has anyone takin there stage 1 car in for say an oil change or inspection and for some reason they checked the map

They more than likely won't notice the difference. But once you go down this path of modding, kiss goodbye to warranty stuff. IMHO.

I have a copy of my stock rom right here. If I think the dealer's going to see it, I'd flash to stock then flash back when I got home.

If at any time I brought my car to a dealer, it's to trade it in.

If I was the warranty type, I'd reflash to stock.

if i did flash i would reflash back to stock at any times where i would have to go in for warranty work

but what im concerned is that if say i take it to the dealer for my free inspection for life would they be able to tell it was flashed i know they could tell if they looked but would they look ?

yes if they can tell if it has been flashed and then reflashed back to stock. in most cases though it is fairly rare for them to check.

well i called a dealer just to ask them and i said "if i were to reflash my computer with a cobb ap would this make it possible to deny a claim " there short answer "yes"

then i asked if i were to bring it in for normal maintenance oil change inspection what have you, he said "if theres no reason to check it they wouldn't check the computer but if there is a problem with inspection ( emissions ) they would look into it more and may find it with the flash if the flash has made modifications to the emissions that cause them to go out of spec"
he also said " but that would throw a cel so that would be your first clue"

annnnnddddd

"but these cars are built very tough

Open sorce doesn't change the calibration ID's not sure about AP's. Only way a dealer would know for sure is when they test drive car and boost levels are raised and timing maps are different, they will notice.
