Are you running the stock radiator cap? If not the higher pressure STI (and others) have been known to cause the stock radiators to leak.

yeah its the stock radiator cap. the radiator is under warranty by a shop that orders from radiator companies. its not an OEM radiator. but it is a perfect fit. and i cant remember the company but i remember that it wasnt an unknown brand. so all of these radiators i have been getting are free and under warranty but im still putin them in myself.

That is odd. My guess is that something else is wrong and the busted radiator is just a side-effect.

this ones leaking out of the bottom seams. the others were through the top. i went to steven jory yesterday and talked with chris about it. turns out that the radiators that i am getting form this company, the cores are waaayyy too thin! my core on my radiator right now is 5/8" thick. it should be around 1 1/2"!!!! too much pressure not a big enough core. so im goin to this place today at lunch to see what i can do about getting the right radiator!!! and to answer gormonks question, its the plastic tank.

somthing to think about, if you over heat your subaru you can create $3,000 + in damage. Maybe it is time to move to a name brand radiator, PWR works great as well as standard thickness Koyo. Just my $.02. Free is only free until something is damaged due to the free part

so i went to the place and apparently every radiator that cfs makes for subarus are 5/8" thick. even the sti one! crazy! so they are giving me a different brand free of charge that is over an inch thick. so i shouldnt have a problem with blowing this one. hopefully... But i am also curious.. do the 04 05 stis have the filler neck on the radiator or no? cuz im thinkin of just getting the sti one if its a direct fit..
