Question Are Subaru stock wheels powder coated? (2004 WRX)

I am looking to get my stock wheels powder coated and the guy at the shop asked me if they come powder coated. I wasnt sure so does anyone know?

he said $50-65 depending on the color per wheel if they are already and if not if they are painted its going to be $100 a wheel.

100% no. They will still need to be sand blasted though. That is why he asked the question. If a wheel has previously been powdercoated, then they require a lot more blasting.

They are charging you way too much. Local places here in Denver do it for about $40 per wheel which includes blasting and coating. You may want to find an alternate place.

That's a ton of money for powdercoating. I wouldn't pay anymore then $50-$60 a rim total.

My dad owns a sandblasting shop and we charge 15 a wheel at most.

Wait, so it's cheaper to get your rims powdercoated if they already are? So he'll just spray over another layer of powdercoat, I think i'd look elsewhere...

one guy is CT said $175 per wheels and I laughed at him. I just switched over to my winter tires and stock wheels. I will have to do some research and wait until next summer when the stockers are off again. I started looking too late this year.

thank alot guys
