off topic but when is the legacy due for a face lift?

If those pics become reality, it kinda looks like a Mitsu Outlander with some Suzuki XT7 mixed into it. I'll wait to pass judgement till the official photos are released, hopefully I'll like it so I wont go on a rampage trying to find WRB XT Sport in a stick

^ I couldn't have said it any better myself. And who would've guessed that small SUVs have the very strength of Samson?

Very much so. I like that. I'd like it more without the chrome band on the top of the grille but I could live with it.

Since the SG ran MY 2003-08 in the US, perhaps this one will run MY 2009-15? maybe I'll pick one up in the 2013-15 time frame (hoping my '05 holds up that long).

I assume that Subaru wen to framed doors becuase of NVH (noise vibration harshness) issues in that the glass tends to pull away from the door seals a higher speeds?
Frameless windows also tend to be a pain in the neck as the cars age- they're the cause for the "Subaru scratches" on my GC's windows and the way the doors rattle when I go over bumps with the glass down.

It's also a pain to wash the car. I always found soapy water inside on the glass.

All you guys with window leaks & whistles need to have your dealer align your windows.

How 'bout the lower dash cubby, the door pockets, the center console or the new rear center-seat storage?

From the JDM brochure posted earlier, translated from Japanese by "lavatiki" at subaruforester.org, here are a few pieces of info...
Those blue gauges are the standard gauges. The sport gauges are standard on XT, optional on the mid-range model.
There is a slide-out rear table (in the cargo area, I assume).
Telescopic steering not available on base, standard on mid-range & XT.
One-touch switch for folding rear seat not available on base, standard on midrange & XT.
Silver Forester shown in the brochure has the "stylish" package. Red one shown has the "active" package. No word on the components of those packages.
Also, it seems that's not a mirror mounted on the front fender of the red one, but an optional front side view camera.

This round of advances from Impreza & Forester is making Tribeca seem lacking in features.

+1K There are adjustment bolts behind the door card. You can do it yourself if you're mechanically minded and patient. There's a max height adjustment and front & rear angle adjustments that you use to determine now snug the window needs to be against the weatherstripping. Don't get them too tight or you'll wear out the guide system and/or make it so your windows will not roll all the way up with the door closed.

The scratches come from letting the trim piece age to the point where the rubber shrinks away from the glass.. letting dirt down onto the felt runners that the glass glides on. I have those scratches too.. I should have replaced my exterior trim pieces earlier.

The door rattles.. well, those come stock on all window-frame-less Subarus (except for '05+ Legacy). I, for one, will not miss that aspect.

The Forester has had the sportshift feature for years in some overseas markets (most notably Australia). Just because the RHD model in the picture has it doesn't necessarily mean it will be offered on the USDM models, unfortunately.
