Default OT: Anybody know about some avilable apartments in central CT?

My first new thread so I'm a little nervous I really need to get out of my overpriced slum but so far I haven't been able to find anything in Middletown, and everything outside Middletown is too expensive for me. Anybody know any places that have some vacancies, preferably 1 or 2 bedrooms in a decent neighborhood under $700? I would prefer to stay in Middletown or Wallingford, but I might go as far north as Rocky Hill, as far south as Hamden, or anywhere in the general area. I can't afford to be picky anymore. And no, a roommate is not an option. Had enough of that in college. Any help of any kind would be greatly appreciated!

Hey, live, a suggestion: the CTnow website has decent apartment listings on their real estate page. Might want to check it out.

good luck!

Thanks, Kaiser. I've been there about a hundred times in the last couple months, along with every other web-based apartment guide. I went back there and found some stuff a little out of my preferred area, but I can't afford to be picky anymore. I was wondering if anybody had some inside info on some little-known places in the area that don't normally advertise. FYI: Yes, I have called Carrabetta and have been told they have NOTHING (I find that hard to believe since they own half of Middletown). Just hoping for a hot tip or lead. Thanks again.

Yeah, unless the place is dirt cheap and like Bel-air. I work in Wallingford. But I would appreciate anything. Like I said, I can't afford to be too picky.

When i relocated here I used the Connecticut Post website CTPOST.COM. it ended up having many more apartments than I had found anywhere else. I know it isn't quite what you are looking for but it might help. You also might want to check out the Central Conn. State U housing website, they might have something that will help you out too. Just some ideas that you may not have tried yet!

i only pay $705 per month, heat and hot water included. and thats a two bedroom. there is also a single and a single with a bigger living room and kitchen. the bigger single is $640 i think. and it is really only a little over a half hour to middletown. but you could put the extra gas money to rent if you are closer.

Actually, I just spoke with my landlord and they're not going to increase my rent now, so I think I'll stay for another 6 months and wait for the market to get a little better, unless I strike gold in the next 2 days. But thanks for your help, guys! See you on the road.

Well, my 6 month lease ends July 31, and this time they're really trying to bend me over with rent and they're not budging, so adios. I could really use some insider local knowledge here on some apartments available in central CT. I would like to stay in Middletown. I work in Wallingford, so I'm looking in that area, too. I'd also look as far north as Rocky Hill, but haven't found anything too appealing. I've tried ctnow.com and found a few leads, but I was wondering if maybe anybody here had a place they were trying to rent out or knew of a place. Please help! If I can't find a place I'm stuck with my parents again!!

Apartments are nice. But just pick up a paper and find a house someone is renting.

I live in West Hartford, work in Rocky Hill/New britian/hartford and only pay 800 bucks for a two bedroom with off street parking and such.

With the roomate my rent is 400 bucks, doesn't include heat or hot water or anything, but for 400 bucks who cares, bills are never more than 100 bucks.

Roomate and a house... thats my suggestion.

I've never understood how you guys afford your cars paying 900 bucks and what not in rent.
