Well it has been decided and the following designs will be used for the 2008 tee-shirts!
Front - Design 3 Back - Design 4 You might need to 'zoom in' on the links above. To do that with IE move the mouse arrow over the image for 1 sec. and click the box that apprears in the lower right corner. In FireFox/Netscape move the arrow it will turn into a magnaifying glass; then click. Stickers: The stickers/decals will not be happening this year. I was really looking forward to making them but there were some very key flaws in my idea that were pointed out. Also I was too busy trying to get the shirts designed that I did not have time to mess around with fixing said flaws. As of 11/28/2007 I have edited this post; it no longer has links to potential designs. If you would like links to other designs please contact me or scout around on this thread and I'm sure you will see a quote with the orginal post. As of 1/9/2008 I have edited this post; I have posted the 'due dates' for the tee shirt orders in both post# 101 and the first post. I also have elminated some information on stickers in the first post. UPDATE ON TEE SHIRT ORDERS! Here is the breakdown of 'due dates' for the tee shirts: Order by Jan 11 (this friday): $15/shirt price and guaranteed to get your size Order by Jan 18 (next friday): $15/shirt price and NO GUARANTEE to get your size Order by Jan. 30: $20/shirt price and NO GUARANTEE to get your size Anything after Jan. 30: NO ONLINE ORDERS! Shirts must be purchased at the event. $20/shirt price and NO GUARANTEE to get your size I am sorry for the short notice on the Jan. 11 cut-off date but my life has been crazy over the past 2 weeks with plumbing projects, friends wedding, work, and final touches on the shirts. Thanks, Ian C.

Yes I was concerned about getting the rights to use the ACS logo but I figured we could easily remove that from the design if needed/wanted.
I recall ACS being fairly picky over who uses their logo. Not sure where i read/heard this though. Ian |

re stickers, I think the dark blue on white's better contrast is much
more readable than yellow on white. re ACS, as soon as you're ready, post an address and start collecting and counting pledges. $1000 by Thanksgiving $3000 by new years more than $7000, more than 2007's total by Feb 1 ? |

Ian, shirt deisgn 2a works overall, maybe keep the sponsors names slightly smaller. only thing i can thing to add is a small phrase similar to the one on design 1..
"NASIOC's annual Tri-State charity drive, 4 states, thousands of dollars, 20 drivers, unlimited fun" not sayin to use that..perhaps somehting a little better flowing though,...just throwing it out there. sticker 2 works well, it can be placed on windows or on paint of cars that arent blue or yellow ![]() |

Front #3 looks great, assuming you can use the pink ribbon design.

Squid - You reminded me about a note on the stickers...thanks. I agree with your opinion after I made the 2nd design I thought about not even posting the 1st design.
NOTE ON THE STICKERS: I was thinking of making them for a window and there will be no background color. So on both of the stickers where you see white will be clear....get what i'm saying? WRXtasy - I collect most of my donations at work so I usually just send an email to everyone in my building briefly explaining the drive, with links to my write-up and the drive homepage. Then I just ask if anyone would like to donate please contact me or stop me in the hallways. This seems to work pretty well. Murray - I think a shorter phrase on the teeshirt would be better. Both you and abby suggested that. Ian |

I also like Front Three, not decided on backs yet. Also decal 2 works well.
wrxtasy555 - Just sit back relax a bit and let the founder(s) make their plans, you will be much happier that way. Use your unleashed energy to try and come up with a plan to raise $. As stated above about 1/2 of the peeps that say they will attend actually do. I for one hope to see you and everyone else that says they will attend actually attend. Jay-R |

I have a txt document on my thumb drive keeping tabs on all votes and suggestions. Please keep them coming
the more votes and suggestions I get the better the shirt/stickers will be!Also: I know last year there were a few issue's with being short on certain sizes (and too many in others). I did note that in a txt document (yes so i wouldn't forget) and we will take that into concideration this year. I am also planning on coming up with a system to ensure that everyone who wants/buys (depending how I do it) a tee shirt will get 1 in their desired size. More details on this will be posted at a later date. Ian Last edited by saab90089; 11-09-2007 at 10:14 AM. |

Ian,
Nice job on the Tee Shirt design. I like version 2 for both front and back. One suggestion on the back -if you can't get permission to use the ACS logo how about saying "for the fight against cancer" or something like that. As for the window sticker (nice idea btw) I like version 2 as well. Question though, will it show nicely through a tint? As for ways to raise funds, ask friends, family, co-workers- tell them it's for a great cause (ACS). Also remember that if you work for a company check for matching gifts! Mark |

On the stickers I suggest that we go with a white txt so when applied to windows it will show up especially on tinted ones. |

I like front design 3, back design 1, and sticker design 2. I have always preferred the front of the shirt to have the logo where a pocket would be, rather than in the center of the chest.
Todd (wrxtasy555) I like, but I think it should be a Forester on there. Figure out what you're going to do for tires yet? |

Looks good......i actually have been looking/trying to do some sort of line-art of a suby in the snow and/or roostertailing some snow out the tires. However I can't draw worth a darn and never found a picture online that I could work with.
Personally I'd prefer a tee shirt in a darker color because white gets dirty pretty quick. But changing the tee shirt color (if that is agreed) shouldn't be hard. Ian |

nothing personal but i think the idea of a picture with "roostertails" does not give the best frist impression. keep it to a simple, profesional text with maybe a map type thing on the back like last year.

I'm glad you like it. Actually, I used Flash and traced the outline of one of the cars from a previous trip (I hope that's not a problem): http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/70521005 I wasn't sure about the colors either and I can change them to whatever is decided. |

![]() [edit].....i'll bite my tounge on this one.....don't want to give the wrong impression to those that don't know the drive.[/edit] Ted does have a point on this one tho. Just to avoid confusion wrxtasy555's design does not have a car with roostertails.....i was just colaborating on with his design. Ian |

I have to agree with Ted. Let's keep the shirts mature and responsible. Last year we had folks like the CEO of SOA getting them as gifts from us, so I don't want them to be some kiddy/ricer/etc. crap.

If you are thinking of car images on the back (not front) how about a picture representing each of the main types on the drive: WRX; Forester; and Outback (of course
).I like the idea of the map on the back again, although since the route is fluid, maybe a representaion of the states we go through? Mark |

Yes Ted and Mike do have a good point on the shirts.
I've now had 2 requests for another map tee-shirt. I will work on designing one for 2008 this weekend. I had wanted to do something different every year but if everyone liked the maps then I can do that again. Ian |

I definitely like the map idea. That's what I was putting together for the back.
