Default Suspension upgrades thoughts?

Hey guys. I was looking to do a little more to my 2009 2.5i sedan suspension. Right now I have rallitek front and rear sway bars and upgraded end-links all around, they really took out a lot of body roll but I still wish it would handle better at high-way speeds. I've been researching the strut and springs out there, and there aren't that many options out there and I was curious if anyone had opinions, experiences ect.

I really only see 2 upgraded strut options out there:
09-10 WRX Struts (maybe with springs)
Koni Sport

Spring wise there are a bunch more choices I found
Epic Engineering
H & R
Subaru SPT Springs

I was leaning towards the Koni inserts and the epic eningeering springs.

Does anyone have experience's or thoughts on any of these?

The other thing was for the koni's and springs it would be >$1000. At that point would it just be a better choice to get coil-overs? (like H&R's are $1250)

Also, if I picked up stock wrx struts and springs will there be a big difference? Are the wry spring rates really that much higher?

Any help would be great, thanks guys!!!!

There is also the Bilstein RCE combo.

What are you trying to achieve exactly? Just a firmer ride?

As Jourdan said, it all depends on what you are trying to achieve. There are alot of different opinions out there, some bias some not. Read some FAQS about which set up (or use) you are looking for and take it from there.

Im using mine as a DD, and really just want to lower it, yet be able to take it to the snow as well. In my case, the coils sound to be the deal, but i haven't quite decided that yet.

Let us know what you choose.

Hey thanks for the help. I really just wanted my DD to handle better, I wasn't all that concerned about dropping it.

If you just want it to handle better and don't care about a drop, then I would go with the 09+ WRX struts and a decent spring. You are going to get a bit of a drop with pretty much any spring you change to, but coilovers seem like a big expense to me if you don't need the adjustability.

It's an uppipe and our cars have no need for it. A shop may be able to use the cat and weld new flanges on so you have 2 cats with an uel header set up.

after looking at it... That's definitely not an uppipe at all. It's a midpipe! Seems like a great deal.

It's a cat pipe, and it is not going to fit without modification.

Hey guys. I just got a 2008 Wagon DGM 2.5i a few weeks ago and have been browsing around here reading up. So far I've thrown in a new Pioneer double din and my 10" Alpine type-R, put on yellow fog light layovers, Rally Armour mudflaps and debadged it. I'm starting to really like the car.

There's a couple things bugging me though. I've read that it's "normal" (is it though?)for the Subarus to automatically rev up the engine when the clutch and brake are pressed and it's still in gear, and hang a bit while changing gears... But if it is normal, is there a way to turn this stuff off? I've only had standard cars, sure this might help some people, but I find it obnoxious at times..
Also, I'm getting some weird vibration from the engine bay at about 3K RPMs. Sounds like, "VVVRrrrnn", and louder than the rest of the engine. Seeing as that's where I primarily shift, and the RPM hang while shifting, it doesn't sound good. I'll look into it more soon, maybe get a sound clip, but maybe someone knew what that was..

Anyways, I'll get some pics soon, and I look forward to joining the Subby community.

Installed some new front speakers today. Huge improvement over the crappy stockers! Heres a guide/install I wrote..

http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=2239999

I also picked up some Kartboy front and rear shifter bushings which will be going on soon and a Perrin shorty antenna.

The pipe needs to be extended and the flange needs to be rotated.

1. you need to make sure the new wheels have TPMS sensors
2. you have to go to a dealer to link the TPMS sensors with your car's computer (

They are attached to the base of the valve stems. You're not going to see them unless you dismount the tires.
