hello all. im a proud owner of an 08 2.5i and i was wondering if anyone knew the offset of the stock wheels. the bolt pattern is 5x100 correct? im looking to lower it and make my wheel fitment as flush to the wheelwells as possible. thanks!

I had my windows tinted with 20% all around & I like the look.
The stock windows have a green tint in the glass and it gives the tinted windows a nice upgraded look,
& I can still see out at night with no trouble.
Now I just hope I don't get pulled over & have to remove the tint from the front windows.

I think the stock offset is 55 and 5x100 is correct.
I found a guide somewhere in the tire & wheel section that gave recommended offsets for different size wheels (which I can't find again)
and for the most I think it recommended not going less than 45 offset or you could damage the wheel bearings.

I have 18" x 7.5 wheels with 48 offset on my car with 225/40 tires.
I would not mind dropping my car an inch or two, but I have already scraped the underside of my front bumper cover pretty hard a couple of times pulling out of driveways.

Love the tint..I went 20% on mine also..looks fantastic on the SWP.Had mine done 2 weeks after buying the car in Nov.Lucky for us..having the light interior makes it "appear" not to be as dark.... Hopefully I will be looking for rims too.

Holy new world....Hey guys...just pop'd my subaru cherry 2 weeks ago. purchased a 2008 impreza 2.5i, dark gray metallic with the premium package....and I LOVE IT! So close to getting a lancer gts, but then i saw the subaru dealership and never went back to the mitsubishi guy. I just hit over the 1k mark and started playing with the sportronic shifter. Anyone have any advice on how to work with the sportronic...i don't wanna kill my car just yet.

First bit of advice would to read the owner's manual.

Second bit of advice would be to search the forum.

Third bit would be to lay off it and break in the engine nice and slow.

Fourth bit, dont worry about it, cause you're more likely to kill your MPG than your engine with it.

Have fun!

ps. Keep an eye on your paint.

Thanks for the advice...I guess i'm just over-anxious because this is my first car purchase and first car I own thats not a ****box. I've read over the manual a few times in regards to the shifting, but I guess I'll get used to it with time.
Whats so shady about the paint?

There's 650 posts. I would read the first couple pages, and the last couple pages to get the gist. But don't ask any questions until you've read all or most of it.

Basically, keep an eye on your paint.

wow...thanks for the heads up/advice. I'm going to look into getting those Rally UR mud flaps this weekend to prevent any possible damage and keep that posting on file incase I need work done by the dealership to add the preventive film. I believe I do have mud guards on the car right now; however, I don't think they go as low as the rally ones do.

Well if you, or anyone else, ever decides to part with your OEM mudflaps for a DGM that are in good condition, let me know how much you want for them.

So far I really only have one chip that I need to fix, and it's above the rear passenger window. I'm hoping it's a freak occurence.

My 2.5i only has about 500 miles on it now, about 200 from a dealer swap, and another 300 mostly highway miles. The car is great except for 1 thing, while shifts are smooth, and the clutch is light and easy to press and release, the engagement is smooth, but the abrupt engagement point of the clutch makes it difficult to launch and sometimes from gear to gear without looking like an amateur. Having driven manual transmission cars for 16 years, and never having to replace a clutch sooner than 120,000 miles, the way this particular clutch feels makes me nervous. Do I have anything to worry about?

In any case, here is the car sitting in my driveway, I plan on getting OEM color matched splash guards and side moldings.

nice. i actually test drove the blue and was planning to buy it. but it looked a little different to me in sunlight than all the online pics. i drove it out to look at the DGM and it spoke a little louder to me. i still like the blue, though. mainly, it was the interior that made up my mind i think.

I am the proud leaser of a 2008 2.5i. I love my car. I know its not a WRX or an STI, but I can accept it for what it is. It is pretty quick and fun to drive. I get hated on by my roommate who has an '02 WRX, but who cares. I wouldn't want anything other then my subi (except one with a turbo, of course.)

P.S. - Vanskater sucks

Nice looking car!

Is your's a 5 speed? If so, how strange have you found the clutch?

Take the money you saved not purchasing an STI, including the money you saved on insurance, put in an IRA and you will probably be able to retire 5 years sooner, while still driving a really nice and fast for the $ AWD car

For some reason I really like this picture. I guess not only the car looks nice, angle is good, and the setting just looks perfect for the car.

But why is the picture grainy?

It certainly is a 5 speed. I am saving quite a bit on not having an STI. BUT, the STi would be nice.

I bought a 00RS new, traded it for a 01RS with 02 EJ20.

Now I drive a 02 WRX wagon 5sp and love it but my wife drives a 06 Legacy.

Im trying to sale my car to lease a 08 2.5i ( white), I really love the new body style and cant wait to get mine in a few months.

Hey, i just traded my 04 sti for an 08 2.5i 5 door premium, mainly gas too expensive for the commuting i will be doing and had alot of mileage on it anyway. In regards to the throttle hang...it is there to save mileage on the highway to filter out small pedal movements that trigger the throttle tip-in...thus saving gas. Im sure when tactrix comes out with the CAN bus cable you might be able to disable it. I know ill be retuning ASAP
