Got my OBS in Newport Blue over Steel Silver two weeks ago. I chose the OBS b/c of the two tone paint, larger rims and just overall looks. As for options, I got the arm rest extension (that really should have been stock), auto dim rear view mirror, amp/ sub upgrade , iPod integration, rear cargo net and all weather floor mats. Oh and I just had the entire front end covered in 3M's clear bra. I'm still on the fence if I want to pick up the sport grill. I may just wait until the chromed grill gets so messed up, I'll get sick of looking at it. Here are some pics.

Here it is next to our 2007 Tribeca that we bought about 8 months ago.

And here is what I'm selling since I've picked up the OBS
:EDIT: Finally sold the Civic! We are a Subie family now.

I started really playing with it after 1600 w/ manual tranny. I kept it below 3 grand whenever possible before that. A couple other scooby owners agreed that was a good number to goto. Didn't ask anybody on here though, so maybe you'll get a different 2c.

I figure at least a grand before you really start pushing on it.

You know, I'm really liking the blue/silver combo, but I do have a big concern. Since the bottom of the car is lighter color (silver), would rock chips expose the color underneath, which I assume to be black plastic. If that's the case, it would look bad, with little black spots exposed all over. Is this a valid concern? If it's also silver underneath, then I'm cool. Otherwise I might have to pick a darker color.

Thanks,

I definatly think the silver/white would show the chips less then the dark colors.

Your base color is the same as mine. There's no black under the silver paint. It's steel body panel, and not plastic.

IMO unless you're driving off-road or on gravel, I wouldn't worry overly about the paint. I put 3M on it and have had no additional chips. There's an image of mine in the maintenance/warranty thread, and it still looks the same at ~ 4500 miles.

Have you seen a black one? Best color IMO if you don't mind black...

I already have another black car, so one's enough. I like the blue/silver combo but would like a darker interior. Might have to go silver to get the black interior. Good to know about the chips, I don't offroad this car.
Thanks,

P.S. - I got my baby up to 115 last night on the highway when nobody was out. I found it necessary to switch lanes a few times. Great times.

Fun. I topped out around 98 or so about a month ago. I'm too old to be out late enough for there to not be traffic around here on Main Street USA. And even if I weren't too old, there's too many traps on my regular highways.

Yea, there is alot of traps here around dallas, but I found a nice stretch just south of Irving where i hadn't seen any cops in a while. It was alot of fun. I reset my trip B and hit 30.6 MPG on that trip. It was a good drive.

Proud owner of a 2.5i sedan as well. Debadged, tinted, and changed to a Prodrive Shiftknob. Wheels, suspension system, intake, and exhaust and I'm pretty much done.

Being really patient about the parts for it though. Any news on whether the WRX-SPT Catback or any exhaust system can fit our cars?

I don't think it will. Uneven headers or something.

From what I understand the 08 WRX catback bolts up on the 08 2.5i, but I don't know if the 08 STi catback is the same.

The 2.5i does not have uneven headers, so it sounds more like a Honda than a WRX or STi, so I've been told.

Sources for either of these two statements? Not calling B.S. just would like to do some reading because exhaust is usually the first thing I tinker with on a vehicle. Not necessarily for performance but more of getting the right sound. I would be pisssed to spend several hundred dollars to sound like a hopped up civic.

Hey,
As promised, I got a chance to look into that exhaust further for you, and unfortunately it won't fit The stock systems are routed differently on the WRX vs. the 2.5i. If you have any other questions please let me know.

Thanks,
