It's 56.1 (google is helpful)

Some companies that sell wheels include hub rings for specific cars with the wheels

Does anyone feel a sense of power loss when they turn on their A/C? I know it's normal to lose some power but it seems to lose enough power to where the rpm drops and the car feels a lot more sluggish

Anyone else feel this and is it fixable?

Roll your windows down

Haha, yeah I feel a power loss also. My rpms don't drop though but it definitely has lag.

Same here and the rpm's don't drop as well. When I press the compressor kill switch going uphill it gets more peppy lol. Only really use the AC when my daughter is in the car

My car feels like its got half the power when the AC is on...

And who puts their windows down when the heat index is over 105? I know I don't.

Uh, Joke? I hear ya though.

All cars have a loss of power when the air is turned on. You're asking the alternator to work harder to charge the battery which in turn gives a power loss..

I see, what if we change it to a better battery like a more efficient one. would it lessen the power loss? Or would it not with like that?

It may have more to do with the alternator and battery size but I do not know for sure. Just my assumption.

Umm... no it's mostly the AC compressor.. at least when the AC is on.. that's what's taking the power from the engine.

One thing I like about our cars though, if you floor it to pass, the AC automatically turns off temporarily to give you full power. I thought that was a neat feature. It actually works and I've noticed it happens even without totally flooring the accelerator.

Also, I just run my car at a slightly higher RPM to compensate. I have a 5 speed manual though.. Maybe it's harder to do that with a slushbox. It is a little harder to start out in first with AC on.. you have to be careful or sometimes it bogs down. Feels to me like a problem with the drive-by-wire tuning.. like it's trying to do something different with throttle than I want, and makes me press even harder on gas pedal to pull away smoothly.

That's one thing I wish our cars had- a real throttle cable.

How do you run your car at a higher rpm? Drive faster or stay in 4th instead of going to 5th?

I've never had my A/C turn off when flooring it. Maybe new for the 09 models? Could also be when the fan is set higher then 1. I generally almost always have it set at 1, very rarely 2 or higher.

Just install a window type AC unit and call it a day lol

Anyways, think I need to get an alignment done. The toe seems way off. Steering wheel wiggles significantly when I go up to around 60mph. But I'm just gna wait till I get my coilovers on

I do! It's super annoying, I usually just roll down the windows and drive a little faster

Perfect solution, now just find me one that works the same/better than oem and weighs half as much as the oem a/c unit
Also around that speed your alignment could be off or more likely your wheels/tires are not balanced. Or who knows maybe steering rack bushing is worn out?

Yeah, like today it was 95F here and I had AC blasting with fan on 3 all day.. Felt great!
What I mean is - say I usually am just putting around, I shift from 2nd to 3rd at around 2600 RPM... when AC is blasting, and AC compressor is sucking power (as well as alternator I'm sure), to go the same speed, I'll just rev it out to 3000 RPM, then shift.

It's exactly like driving up a small incline, to go the same speed, just use more of the engine's power by revving it out more. I don't even consciously look at tachometer.. and don't press gas pedal much further.. but I don't get that ''bogged down'' slow feeling you guys are talking about. I know exactly what you mean.. the AC does suck a lot of power out of a 2.5i..

Check the owner's manual.. that AC cut-off may have started in '09, not sure. I know there were a lot of changes in the base 2.5i from '08 to '09.

........edit......That only happens when you really get on it.. like passing or on-ramps. The AC light doesn't go off either, you can feel the cold air get a little warmer though. It feels like 'V-Tech just kicked in YO!' Seriously though I can feel the increase back to regular power level when it happens.. it does kinda feel like V-Tech.. a little bump in power.. same as if you reached over and clicked off AC.. Definitely noticable.

couldn't be that cuz I just rotated and balanced the tires a few weeks ago....had the same problem on my old car, aligned it and it went away. Think what caused it was when I was driving and the edge of the asphalt caved in and almost took me down a ditch. When that happened i had to pull to the left real hard, and its been doing that ever since.

Could be balance still though..

They VERY OFTEN get it wrong. It also could be a wheel and/or tire imperfection where even if it is perfectly balanced, the bump on the tire will wobble your steering wheel or vibrate the car.

I sent one tire back to Tire Rack when I bought my wheel/tire combo because it had a bump on it. On the balance machine you could see it.. it was balanced but had a high spot that vibrated my car. The new tire fixed it..

Most of the time a bad alignment won't cause a wobble anyway, just bad tire wear and/or pulling left or right. Think about it..

If you have nice tires don't wait lol I installed my coilovers and lowered my car and the toe was waaaaay off when I whet over those rubber pads on the train tracks it would squeak, so when I finally got an alignment the inside of my front wheels were almost bald
