Thank you! The lip I'm running is this one http://www.baysonr.com/08_09_Subaru_...m0809-sti2.htm I had the DIY lip before, but it just didn't do it in comparison to the new lip. It is alright though, just doesn't have enough of that "chin" to it.

The wing... that was a LOT of searching. I had a WTB out for a wing for awhile, as well as searching the FS section for the past 2 years. Someone messaged me out of the blue telling me they had a wing in my color for sale. Needless to say, I bought it after I was told it was pretty clean

@scoobymatt did you have to drill into the bumper or did you use the plastic clips?

I'm so confused... Is the the 2008, 2009 STI different from the 10'-12' in terms of body??? Because I've seen pictures and the 08-09 STI has different fenders than wrx and 2.5i. But that picture in that post for the bayson lip, that STI looks like 09 wrx and 2.5i

There are some different bodys:

08-10 STI have the wide body

11-12 STI have a new designed front bumper and this body is the same as the new wide body WRX (11-12)

All non turbo Imprezas and the 08-10 WRX have the same NON-widebody styling

Any one else get the fogging in the instrument panel. It's like on the inside

Edit:
Or like a haze. I can rub a little off, but it's still there

No fog in instrument cluster here.. However I never put any pruducts on that plastic, even if the product says it's made for that. I just lightly dust it with dry soft micro-fiber when needed.

That plastic is always very soft and prone to permanent scuffing. I get fog on dirty glass.. when clean it resists fogging a lot better.

I know a leak in your heater core can cause that fogging issue, but that's unlikely. That usually happens on old cars.

Lol. If anything California laws would be the ones who would screw you over. Oh well, the wrx cbe is also nice, a little more flush than your previous quad tip

This was the substance that was bothering me

And I don't think they can pull you over for the sti quad tip, technically it's still oem and if they want to test emissions I wouldn't be surprised if it passes normally.

And for the noise level, I'd just keep it on the low rpm when you cruise by one LOL

Lol that is so true.. meh

That is true, but it is technically "modified" and im sure others have been ticketed for that even being under the legal limit. Even with my quad tip, the db is fairly low, and definitely under the legal limit.

About that instrument panel fog, looks like its on the outside? Could it just be some juice or some liquid that was left over? Another possibility is that you sprayed cleaning solution and its eating the plastic, becasue from the image, it does look like the plastic is getting eaten away.

Angry

I read the law in NY and it's F'ing ridiculous. There's no db level argument at all now, it just says anything that isn't stock. Complete Communist Nazi-ism. Basically the law is so vague that if the cop gives you a ticket, his testimony is the law. Anything the cop thinks is too loud, is illegal. Such BS. And it's the aftermarket's fault- thry need to hire lawyers and lobbyists to make sure these insane laws aren't passed. Lord knows all the welfare people voting for socialists in NY don't give a crap about our freedom.. SEMA? Fail.

But but but... large sodas, and trans fats, and aftermarket exhausts are bad for you man. Only the government can protect you from these evils.

Hey I got a question for all you 2.5i nuts.

Are you running more air pressure than what's on the door jam sticker after you upgrade to wider/larger wheels and lower profile tires?

Stock is a relatively skinny 205mm wide, 55 aspect ratio, 16 inch tire on 6.5 inch wheels.. 33 lbs front, 32 lbs rear. from memory- I hope I'm right.

Now I have 225-45-17 tires on an 8 inch wide wheel. That's the same tire size as '08-'10 WRX, but 0.5 inch wider wheel, I think.

So is the WRX recommended tire pressure the same 33/32?

I feel like 33F/32R lbs/sp. in. is way too low for my setup. It feels like the steering is heavy, the rolling resistance is high, and gas mileage is low- even starting off from stop in 1st gear (5-spped stick) is more difficult than it should be.
At 35 front 34 rear, gas mileage goes up noticeably, steering is lighter, starting off from stop is easier, grip is fine, but ride does suffer a little bit, but not as much as you'd think. I tend to run about 34 lbs front, 33lbs rear for a good compromise.

This is from dead cold though, without driving car for at least 8 hours, preferably overnight, and adjusting pressure in the morning, before heat of day or even sun hits tires which throws it off a lot.

What about you guys? Do you guys with crazy 18 inch by 8.5+ inch wide wheels and 40 series tires tend to run even higher cold pressure? What about my size 17'' wheels/tires? Do you run more than door pillar sticker? How much?

I run the recommended door spec since it is, easier that way. Lol also I just feel safer doing that for daily driving. Although yes the front seem like not enough air causing some degree of understeer as the tire folds over it self on some turns.

Our America is turning to our communist America. Time to move back to Japan Lol.

I honestly don't think it is aftermarket company fault since alot of different states and countries have more lenient law for cars. I honestly think a lot of states want everyone to drive a so called "eco friendly" car in the states.... Because all.the laws I've seen are leaning towards that. must be quiet and ultra low emissions
