My headlights have sort of a haze to them. It is not on the outside though. Do you guys think the seal is broken? It looks like dust
Opinions are much appreciated.
Thanks

Seal may be broken. I have the same exact haze on my headlights, although when I installed my Hid's I had to modify the oem housing and I think that's where its coming from. However when I got a clean microfiber and rubbed the outside surface very hard with some windex it actually removed some of it which made me realize it could just be oxidation on the outside so Im confused...
Anyone have a solution to this problem?

I believe kartracer is right. The seal looks broken and causing a bit of condensation in the headlight.

Alright then the seal is definately broken. I actually used a kit on my headlights to reduce oxidation and it didnt do anything at all, so it has to be inside, in my situation atleast.

How often do you drive with the headlights on?

The heat from the lights could be the cause.

Usually only at night. How would the heat cause it?

Get the meguires plastix headlight restore and a micro towel.looks to be just outside I'd it doesn't work them It's inside. I've pulled my headlights apart and after doin that passion I don't see how the seal can just break.it's not like a gasket .is super tacky adhesive you have to heat it up in your oven to get it to pull apart

Heat from the bulbs can oxidize the plastic the same way the sun does it during the day. It usually doesn't matter, but if you're driving with your lights on a lot, it can speed up the oxidation process.

So its possibly oxidation on the inside of the headlight from having the headlights on alot.
Just to make sure, there is no way of opening the headlight to clean the inside correct?

Sun on the outside, headlamp on the inside.

The headlight can be opened.

It's tricky, but it can be done.

I personally do not think your seal is broken, I think people are seeing and talking about two different things.

When I haven't hand washed and waxed my car for a while, like over winter, the outside of my lights get a slight haze of road grime that doesn't come completely off even when hand washing.

I just put a coat of wax on my headlights and it's like new again for a while. Once you do that or use some other product similar, you won't see that haze on the outside for quite a while.

The pic above I think is condensation on the inside surface of the polycarbonate outer cover which happens only under certain conditions such as when you wash your car with cold water when the car is still hot from the sun (or heat of day), then temperature drops outside so the condensation doesn't evaporate until your headlights's heat evaporates it after they've been on for a while.

I see the same thing once in a while, but only under certain conditions, and I have no leak.

It is not a vacuum inside our headlights- and air has moisture in in it. Under certain conditions water condensates out of that air in the headlight and collects on inside surface, that does not mean you have a leak, necessarily. Solution, leave on headlights to heat up air in your headlights, and moisture will evaporate.

You headlights don't oxidizer the inside. Never seen it done especially on that new. Four guys at work(a auto parts store) have done it and two you couldn't even see the bulb they were so bad used the stuff on outside and they looked brand new. I'm saying this from experience I've had I don't claim to kno all cars but to the guy with the prob do outside before you open them

You know, you could have removed the pieces you wanted to paint instead of masking off the whole front end of the car...

Looks good though.
