Could it be your tire rubbing on some plastic?

I doubt it, im on stock suspension and the turns taken wouldnt be enough to make the wheel rub compared to the more spirited driving i have done.

Get under the car to check it. It there any chance the boot might of come off? And are you sure it's not the power steering pump making sounds?

Ill check the boot. I don't think its the power steering pump. It sounds like a loud gear grinding sort of like if your shifting wrong and you grind on your shifts, instead of the high pitch whine from the power steering.

Maybe the CV joint's are worn out? I know those are a problem on higher mileage subaru's but your's has to be less than 80K right?

Hmm do a little more research and/or maybe get it checked out by a good mechanic. The fact that your car has a salvage title makes me wonder where/who did the work to fix it, ya know?

Random tip of the day - for those who want a cheap, minimal exhaust change, a 08-10 WRX catback is a bolt-on option (flanges match with NO difference or adjustment).

The WRX midpipe is 2.5 instead of 2.25, and the resonator is much smaller. Exhaust pipe after the muffler is also larger. There is barely any difference in sound, a hint of very deep bass at idle, . Probably (to be measured) better flow at high RPM. Given the cost of cheap OEM WRX catbacks and the ease of installing it, it's recommended.

Depends on your definition. I've been looking for a 08-10 wrx hatch catback for a year and a half. I can count on one hand the number of times I've found one. They're never near by, and they're never cheap.

IMO, not worth the $60 (i spent).. My friend who is a sound freak, couldn't even tell from inside the cabin, and has an annoying drone to it on the freeway.

Idle you are getting is weird, because the sound should be roughly the same and loudness is almost the same.

Get into your regional forum, make some friends, and get the word out you want a WRX catback cheap. It's likely enough someone will sell you their WRX catback.

I even got a STI quad tip exhaust free for doing that.

Ok so I promise you guys that I searched for this on here for like a half hour before posting. What thread did you guys use for your snorkus delete / DIY CAI install. Do you guys have any advice on what to buy? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
