Paint is $100/hour plus $300 in material. That eats ups like $2000 to paint most of the front end, at least at the shop I use to work at. But that should be enough for a premium bumper, side skirts, WRX hood, fender, headlight, paint, and a little change left over!

Rad support and possible unibody damage adds to that... I'm on the fence.about the wrx hood bit if I could swing the bumper and skirts I would do that then do the wrx rear bumper at a later time, also maybe look into stock c.f. hood but I would want it painted same as the car

oh and the update on the clunking;

Apparently, my whole swaybar assembly has been compromised. The swaybar itself, endlinks and bushings. my mechanic told me that there were hairline cracks on them all. Is that even possible to make clunking noises??
and are they considered under warranty?

Thanks! I'm gonna run them this winter then get some new tires for summer. Probably star specs. Then probably just run steelies the following winter with blizzaks.

Yup. They grip ice better, and last longer too.

What!?! Maybe your car being lowered that much had to deal with changing the geometry of everything and just created a lot of stress on the bar? I'm just thinking this out but I could be completely wrong lol. Sounds very odd though ...i can imagine the endlinks breaking under extreme load but not the bar. if you bring your car in for warranty stuff I think they might deny you because of your coilovers depending on the stealership you go to.

I don't see why it would be covered under warranty? A rear sway bar isn't an option on our cars. I'd take it in and play dumb lol. If your still under bumper to bumper warranty stop in and pretend the sway bar was always there and that your mechanic claims it's broken

Edit: check for yourself on those 'hairline cracks'. Maybe they're only in the paint. The bar is designed to flex a lot! While paint doesn't have that kind of characteristics.

I see, I forgot to mention it's only the front one. I'm guessing it's only the end links cause like you guys said, it does flex alot.

Ill problably check again tomorrow, it just sounds like a endlink is loose, but I checked last week and everything is tight.

they said they didnt take out the end links when they changed thr suspension.so I'm guessing thats why; all that added tension

Check the front swaybar assembly yourself. Mechanics are dbags like that. If you don't see damage, don't go to that shop again.

Just bought an optima yellow top. Im still kicking myself in the arse cuz i spent $300 on a battery. Its a good battery though so far. Cranks quick and easy and can support my audio system. Guess im just mad because i could have just bought a $2 bottle of de-ionised water, bring the acid levels up, charged it and call it a day instead of dipping into my rim fund

yeah comes with a 3 year warranty so i should be good in the long run. It was a good investment i think, was just hesitant to drop the cash cuz of the financial crunch.

I have Altimax's on my winter set too. I love them.

Blizzacks are GREAT in the snow but when its dry, they're way too soft and they wear super fast.
