I've been told that Axxis Ultimate are great pads.

I haven't had any problems with my stock brakes. I know that they will need to be changed if I want to go to a track. I've been eyeing a Stoptech "Stage 2 Sport" kit. That seems like a pretty good deal and will meet my needs.

I just did a oil change at 5k(40.1k on the odo) and I'm just curious what everyone's normal oil consumption is?

Yeah, remember to check it before you drive the car.

And I've notice that when the air from the fan on cold starts to blow hot or very warm on a 70ish degree day or at a cold night then you are running low on oil Lol

28,000 miles and no oil burnt. I drive 90+ mph at times too. When I really thrash it- like up a steep hill or something, I smell what smells like burning oil, or something just really hot. Not always though.

edit
Always used Mobil 1 syn.. but changed over to Subaru synthetic a few oil changed ago.

Until 36,000 miles I ran whatever the Subaru dealership used since they did my services under the service plan. I now do my own oil changes and use only Amsoil O.E. synthetic. Thinking of trying the Rotel T6 as a lot of the locals use that and like it.

I live in California n I'm always goin 80 on the freeways. I normally only try to punch it on the on ramps or on empty back streets. No signs of burning oil smell for me.

It's common for Subarus to burn oil quickly. Especially when stepping on it..

Last two changes have been Mobil 1 Synthetic for me. Haven't noticed low oil or burning oil. My changes have been about every 5k and I'm pretty sure that it's known that I drive my car pretty hard.

My buddies bugeye with an 07 sti swap burns oil fast and he drives hard. My ladies 04 bone stock wrx burns oil and she drives like a Sunday. All depends on what oil you use I'm sure.

My friends old bugeye started to burn a lot of oil but I think his turbo was going so he sold it.

Forced induction problems....

I thought I had read where Mobil 1 syn 30 weight is actually made from a 20 weight, and thus shears (I think that's the right word) faster, leading to a situation where you could burn more oil.

Can anyone confirm?
