hmm master cylinder brace, gotta research about that

jourdanwithaU: are ou on coilovers?? looks pretty damn low

also to the guy who put in WRX exhaust...is it just for sound or was there a performance increase? why not put an aftermarket piece there instead?
Most aftermarket exhausts are 3" straight through and with a naturally aspirated car that size exhaust will move your torque curve higher in the RPM range which is far from ideal for a car that most likely spends it's time under 3500 RPM's. My butt dyno didn't notice any power gains but the throttle responce was slightly improved.

I'm not sure if you're talking to me, but I put 2012 WRX exhaust on my 2.5i for appearance and sound.

Not anymore. I switched to Koni inserts and stock springs. The picture is deceptive since it was taken mid corner so there's a lot of body roll making it look lower than it is.

Here's a slightly better shot showing the actual height.

It probably sits a little lower than stock just because the Konis are hydraulic while the stock shocks were gas filled.

Can you get those whiteline RSB mounting braces separately? Are they just listed as a WRX part?

Any reason for the switch?

Yep, KBR15.

http://www.whiteline.com.au/product_...t_number=KBR15

MSRP, $79.90.

I've seen them in silver and gold. IDK if you can pick the color though.

I had BC BR Coils which weren't very good.

What I really want (and what I should have gotten instead of the BC's) is a Koni/Ground Control set-up. Konis and stock springs for now is just a simple transition since I couldn't afford the Ground Control stuff before the season started. My car will stay relatively unchanged until the last event in August or so. Maybe I'll stay in Stock class for the Slush series too though. Depends on how much rubber is left on these pizza cutters.

But I can say that my current set-up is extremely close, performance wise, to my old set-up.

The stuff that changed;

BC BR coilovers -> Koni shocks w/ stock springs
18x8 Rota P45 -> 16x6.5 OEM Premium Alloy
235/40/18 Toyo T1R -> 205/55/16 Dunlop Direzza ZII

The tires are mind boggling. The ZII's are about 2 inches narrower and provide about the same level of grip.

The next event where I'm scheduled to run in the morning, I'm going to bring the Rota/Toyo set and do a second run on those to see what kind of times I can put down.

What specifically was it about the bc's that weren't very good?

The dampening was no good and the springs were too stiff. If the surface was completely smooth they were fine. But any kind of bump and they just completely **** the bed. The car car would also tripod a lot.

Was there no was to make the setup any softer? Also never thought our cars could tripod with it being heavier with a longer wheel base than most civics and other compacts. Could you feel the "tripod" effect, or were you told by others? I'm guessing this only happened on autox.

I think it was inherent to the design. They're short stroke coilovers and they utilize a stiff preloaded spring. Because of this they didn't offer a lot of droop and the car wasn't heavy enough to compress the springs enough to make it all work.

Here's a shot from the install. Koni on the rear and BC on the front. Notice how much further the rear wheel droops compared to the front.

And it wasn't so much that the car would tripod on course. I don't think a tires ever left the ground. But I could feel the loss of traction and ultimate loss of power and the open diffs just let all the power go to the spinning wheel.

The most actual lifting occurred on the street. There was almost no driveway that I could pull into and not lift a rear wheel. If I stopped while the wheel was off the ground, it would spin for a bit before TCS would kick in and get the car moving again.

Hey guys so I've been callin around shops to see if I could delete my second cat. Everytime I go somewhere I either get quoted ridiculously high for them to replace that whole section of pipe, or call a Midas for them to tell me they won't do it anymore because its illegal. Please help me I know there are some of you with these

Should cost like $50 at a hole in the wall shop but yes, it is illegal to remove emission equipment.

What about the axleback resonator? I'd like to delete that for a slightly louder exhaust but I don't want it sounding like a fartcan. Anyone care to chime in on cost/ effectiveness?

iirc, the second cat is the connection between the header and mid pipe, so deleting it Will in fact need to replace that section of piping.

If anyone is interested I will be selling my front lip very soon. Switching it up

Bayson R (from an STI)
Its already cut to fit out bumpers and plasti-dipped for a matte finish
I would prefer someone close to me as shipping this thing would be difficult.
PM me if interested

Essentially swapping out the big muffler for a straight pipe. It's not that loud at all.

Remember you still have the cat and resonator up front.

You get the crackle and pop too

You mean a muffler delete? Or taking out that last muffler before the y pipe?
