^ Unless you want possible oil on your maf..your better off with the paper filters. I did the K&N and i didn't notice a difference at all. Sold it because I thought it was a waste of money.

I've talked with a local tuner (very well known/respected) and have been told tuning our cars is a waste of time and money. You won't really gain anything.

I got quoted around 250 as well, so If I buy like the tsudo cat back exhaust for 360 that would be right from the primary cat back correct?

From my understanding the things I've seen done was timing adv, altering the DBW charts, n set to run off 91 Oct for knock resistance. Then again this is just hear say n me remembering posts from a few yrs ago.

I'm not entirely sure how the etune works but thats a set map. With the road tune, he actually plugs into the computer of your car and can read what is going on. Its more specific for your application with the road tune. He basically plugs into your car, you go on a drive together and make a few runs..he ll make a few adjustments and you will do a few more runs. He can adjust it to whatever you want. Pure Genuis IMO. (and thats with having ECS and EFI in the same state as us.
Interesting thank you

Any of you guys run 17" wheels on stock suspension? How bad does it look with the wheel gap?

The etune is exactly the same as the above, i.e. a road tune, just done remotely. You have to do the logging per his instructions and send the logs to him, he then makes adjustments to the ROM tables and sends the ROM back to you. You flash the ECU with the new ROM then repeat until satisfied. Which I am

How many back and forth before you were satisfied, and what was it that made you say "yes that's it"

I think we did 5 iterations, I was happy after maybe 3, but he kept looking at the data I would send him and making adjustments until he was happy that we were eeking everything possible out of the tune whilst keeping it knock-free and reliable.

On my 08' 5 speed, I get about 1 mpg increase driving in 4th gear at 50 mph 2.8k vs driving 5th gear 50 mph at 2.3k. Idk why.

I think there is, looks so complicated though. Far from plug and play. On the upper side of things though, there's a local guy works at the shop I go to might have a cable I can rent.

I dont own one, but I personally wouldn't get one. Its really a mixed bag of good and bad for it..

More debris, oil on Maf, Air intake difference i doubt is any different..

If you want a filter that can be cleaned, I'd personally look into the Perrin Foam filter. Thats what I was looking at. haha

i wouldn't say its useless, but there was no noticable gain; even in the butt dyno. Its just like the oem one, except its reuseable. You just need to clean it every so often and make sure you oil it enough just right. and who cares if oil gets on the maf, it takes like 10 seconds to take off the maf and maybe a couple of minutes to clean the maf itself.

based on personal experience, its exactly the same as a oem. except the cleanable part. I checked my maf after maybe 20k of use; there was no oil or dust on there. I checked the piping and the throttle body, it was clean

But i did switch back to paper filters tho, its just a piece of mind thing for me.

Here's what mine looks like with 17x8 wheels and 225-45-17 tires on stock suspension. It would definitely look better with a drop but I like my clearance too much.. especially in snow, and I'm not putting coil-overs on it.. So stock height it is. It's isn't terrible I guess.
