I did it with a dremal, few hack saw blades and a cobalt tipped drill bit that did most of the work. The shields break apart after bending the metal too. Sound primitive but it worked for me. It's the cheapest best way to fix your problem. Hope you didn't get charged for that crap work at Midas.

Are there any side skirts or rear spats available for our cars? Looking to get some to complete my cars look. Anything out there other than that ~$800 kit from Ebay? For sedan btw.

Go look at the 2.5i thread. I just made a reference to a similar post like yours at least for the sideskirts. The rear spats their isn't really anything available other than for sedans (I think).

I would love to get some side skirts and lip if I didn't have to pay an arm and a leg for painting them.

The front lip/side skirts/rear bumper add on kit from eBay that it's now $750 used to be $250 a few weeks ago. I wonder why it's so much more now.

Hopefully they will lower it. When they realize no one is stupid enough to spend that much on some poly.

That looks awesome! Got any diagonal side shots of the whole front of this setup? I just got the top lip and planning on painting it this weekend.

I'm having trouble finding how much differential fluid I need for the front and rear differential on my 2008 Impreza OBS, with 4EAT.

I've bought 2 quarts of 75w90, will this be enough for both?

Idk about the 4EAT I know the 5 speed is like 3.5qt for trans and just about 1 for rear diff just keep filling till it starts overflowing for the rear diff.

Approximately 1.3L sooo almost 1.4quarts, the rest will most likely do your rear diff.

Noob question, I read somewhere that engine braking (hard down shifting) can cause more problems later---where they provided the analogy that replacing brake pads was cheaper than repairing an engine. Anyone care to refute and/or educate me? I drive a 4EAT but I spend 75% of my time shifting myself because I like going to the gas station . I do glide to a stop 90% of the time though.

Makes zero sense to downshift to a stop. Downshifting is good for slowing down in order to already be in gear at a higher RPM.

Slowing down in say 5th gear from 60mph to zero and pressing the clutch before stalling the car makes more sense. Braking from 60-0 in neutral is hard on brakes.

Okay, so engine braking is bad? Or am I misunderstanding? (Down-shifting is engine braking right?)

Sort of, it's hard to explain. Just do a quick google search on it.

Engine braking is only bad when you drop the clutch between gears when you should be rev matching. But I agree that overall it's cheaper to replace pads than any engine components. However engine braking and regular breaking to stop can be very effective if you need to stop very quickly lol

Side note- the eBay vendor that sells the front lip, sideskirts, and rear lip combo will be changing the price back to normal in a few days.

Drool. How many inches clearance do you have from the lip to the ground? The corners look like there on the ground lol.

Alright so I went out and took some pics finally. Last week I got my Koni Yellows and RCE Blacks on. I also got my windows tinted. I went with the legal 50% here but it actually reads 40%. The rear reads closer to 30%. Could've went darker, but I actually think this looks perfect.

Last time I checked, its about a two finger gap all around. Its weird though because the suspension is kind of sensitive on the ground. Theres places where it looks absolutely slammed and places where it looks like its monster trucking lol.
