I thought about 2PT5I or IMPRZV for a plate. Wanted the white plate so was limited to 6 characters. Have a plate in mind for my WRX but Im keeping it to myself so nobody snipes it! Definitely have a growing list of places I dont want to drive anymore with the current ride height. The beauty of coilovers is when I get sick of it I can crank them back up.

In response to some requests here are a few crappy cell pics of the tire/wheel combo and some close ups of the lip.

Thanks so much for the pics of the stretch. It doesn't seem as stretched as I thought it would be. I assume on a 9in rim it will look very similar stretch wise.

I was nervous about using the 215 but its not too crazy. I bet if you use a 215 on a 9" you will start to see the back side of the lip but it totally depends on which tires you go with. They all stretch different. Check out http://tyrestretch.com/ They have a lot of good examples for reference. Also you have to look at the actual specs for each tire you are considering. For example a Neo Gen 225 is actually 220mm wide not 225.

I like the neogens because they are made to last longer on vehicles with negative camber but I can't find a 215/40/17 anywhere so I was thinking of going with kumho ecsta. Since they have a higher treadwear rating of 400 compared to neogens 280. Hopefully the higher treadwear will match the benefits of camber resilience.

Also where did you go to get them mounted. Just curious

http://www.allacrosstheislandtires.com/ they do a lot of stretched setups in the area and are well known for doing big stretches without scuffing up or scratching nice new shiny wheels. even with a mild stretch id recommend bringing it to a shop who has experience with it.

65 miles trip to that shop:/ I have a place locally that will stretch tires but they charge more to stretch compared to proper fitting tires lol.

Also where did you find this information " For example a Neo Gen 225 is actually 220mm wide not 225" I looked on the nitto website but came up empty handed.

http://mobile.nittotire.com/tires/ne...ecs?sn=185-050
Found it on my phone so its a mobile link. Tire specs - overall width. Then convert inches to mm. The 215/40/18 are 8.7" wide I think it was.

Okay yea thats what I was looking at and was a bit confused about. It says 8.86in for the 215/40 which is 225mm. I might just go with the 215/45 instead of the 215/40 since the 45's run $22 less each than the 40's and its an identical tire performance wise.

You still gna rock 17's? Go 40, you might regret the 45's.

How much room is there for staying with proper gearing through overall tire height. I have 17/45, would the lower profile do anything for me?

Im currently on the stock 205/55/16 and my car is really low and I get 0 rubbing and can turn at full lock. I wanted a 40 series but I would still be safe with a 45 series only 10mm wider and slightly smaller diameter than the stock tires.

Stock tires are 24.9 inches in diameter and 215/45 are 24.6 inches give or take a few depending on brand.

On the way home from a round of golf, felt like doing a little home movie.

Epic fail, phone fell over as I passed. No quality here, shot with iPhone 4.

Doesn't sound like much from the road. Sounded like the world was coming to an end from the drivers seat with all the windows down though.

I'm going to grab another vid later tonight.

Two quick pulls, mid gear to a short shift. Wind noise is bad at the upper speeds.

http://i1320.photobucket.com/albums/...ps67061331.mp4

And just a slow trot through down town.

http://i1320.photobucket.com/albums/...ps6c11fdd2.mp4

Still sounds like crap through phone speakers. Recommended to listen through real speakers haha

And I took this one the other day after a bike around the lake. Thought I should put a face to the vid.

Are there any engine pics? I want to see some performance upgrades from the few who have dared to do so.

Pretty close to a straight pipe, its a Magnaflow cb with two cats still in place. No loss at low end. There is a gain from stock but nothing you can feel.

Quick start up video of my exhaust.... Borla UEL headers to a magnaflow cat ("stock kind") and full magnaflow catback exhaust (yes, resonator & muffler). Used to have a high-flow cat but it was way too loud. This was from 2 months ago, why my rear hatch looks different

I see i see. I'm running only a muffler delete, but am thinking about a high flow cat to make it louder LOL. I'm liking the pops and crackles I'm getting right now too

Don't do the high flow cat, I couldn't even drive normally next to a cop without being pulled over. 5 warnings in 3 months with it haha
