You have a jack in your trunk.. That's what I used. I drilled into the car to mount the rears, it is a much better way to to it, and you really need to take off rear tires to do that. Fronts are easy bolt-on, unless you want to keep factory mud guards too like I did, then it is a lot more work.. need to drill extra holes into mudflaps, etc.

It's also a good time to pull the liner and get all the leaves and junk outta here-

You had to drill extra holes? I literally just lined up the oem guards with the bolts for the RA mudflaps and they worked just fine....

In the front I had to drill one extra hole in the mudflap and support piece to fit the extra screw that is required for the factory mud guards.

If not for the factory mudguards, no you don't need to drill extra holes.

edit- I just took some pics - I'll post them up in a sec.

ok here's what I mean on the front..

I think it was that middle screw that I needed to drill into the flap and the support piece for.

Just a pic of rear since I was out there- you can see where I drilled into car body (rear flaps).

Looks like I need to wire brush and paint that rusty hardware black now..

Has anyone seen a concept for fender flares on the hatch similar to this Polo?

Personally i think this could look cool if done right.

So true, glad I got the flaps because my leaves were wet and kept company by 2 pounds of sloppy mud. And it had not rained in a month when I did it.....filled a small shop vac with that stuff.

Hey bro I just got my front lip from the same place you got yours. Did you have to modify it any way to make it fit?

So I'm about to buy this front lip:
http://www.subarugenuineparts.com/pr...oducts_id=1286

Can somebody who has it tell me if the fender liner is important in installation? Part of mine close to the bumper got torn out and I have yet to replace it. Should I?

All I did was drill two or four extra holes through the lip and bumper to make it more secure. I also trimmed the ends to make it flush with the bumper.

Personally I would buy the Ebay version for 80 bucks with free shipping and then buy a can sparypaint matched to your car and save yourself 200 bucks.

The fender lining doesn't matter and like slow scoobie said its better the eBay way I bought mine from genuinesubaruparts.com same place your looking at and notice how much more expensive it is compare to buying the eBay one and having my local Subaru dealer body shop paint it would have saved me 140$

Best mod is to save your money and invest it into a Wrx or something with power.

But that's not the spirit. The spirit of car tuning is taking what you have and improving it while keeping it unique. Should I just get wrx or something better? Probably. Do I want to? No.

fancy is right tho. If you really feel the modbug upon you, invest in suspension, wheels, tires, etc.

You might be able to snatch a rear sway from a WRX for $100. New radio for a little bit over $100, master cylinder brace, plastidip some random parts, front lip.
