Lowered on Swift Springs + WRX Struts.
Yea, my "lip" is not looking so sturdy anymore .

+1. As far as I know, the base model 08's came with black handles and paint matched rear diffuser (sedans, not sure on hatches). The 09+ came with paint matched handles and black diffusers

Open source is pretty popular for our n/a cars I'll be getting it tuned at Neetronics. They're pretty reputable too. One of the members on this forum got his tuned, (duvanator)and he got some nice gains from Neetronics

Looks great Fancy! Wow....I'm a little over 40k on my '11
Also can't wait to see your rear disc brakes installed! Pretty interesting that our brakes are made by Tokico IMO lol.

bumpdate for myself: beach trip today, plastidipped wheels hawk hp+, corner of headlights blacked out w/ TRS retrofit, & experimenting with gold reflective tape on intake

Sorry for the iphone quality pictures btw!

and yes I know i didn't completely wrap the intake- I ran out

-Intial thoughts & opinions on each-
Dipped wheels: Initially was gonna go gold but the gold metalizer was just too much. Decided to go black with some gold flakes followed by some glossifier. Overall looks pretty awesome but as seen in the picture's; you can barely make out the spokes. I'm honestly glad I dipped my wheels before putting the hp+ on because they create uber amounts of brake dust!

Hawk HP+: Def more aggresive than the HPS. A lot more initial bite, higher temp resistance is noticeable and much better but I still got them to fade on my mountain runs. Produces a lot of brake dust (beware). Very noisy after runs but after a few days they make little to no noise when daily driving.

TRS retrofit: Absolutely love it. However, when I use the highbeam bi-xenon's the solenoid gets stuck open and I have to repeatedly tap the high-beams until it closes. Have yet to have any flickering as well as anyone to blind me with my 55watt 5k morimoto 5five ballasts and bulbs.

Blacked out turn signals: When doing the TRS retrofit, I decided to black out the corner of my headlights. This consisted the reflective housing of the turn signal as well as behind the corner orange reflector piece that I decided to keep. Light output is slightly reduced but not horrible. I do plan on getting amber led's to help with output in the future so I'm not to worried

Gold heat reflective tape: Was hesitant but it actually does reduce the temperature quite a bit. Previously the hybrid intake tube would get too hot to touch and now I can grasp the tube easily. The butt dyno does not notice any improvements

blah blah blah, let me know what you guys think!

Actually life is gonna be harder now. Cleaning brake dust off dipped wheels isn't exactly a cake walk in my experience. It is actually a bit stickier than glossy paint. It's still good though.

My solution (assuming you have OEM fogs/ fog stalk), is to, once the solenoid gets stuck (for me it's the passenger side), I switch the fogs on and flick the highbeam once or twice and it goes back down. I'm guessing the power transfer to the fogs might fix it, but it's a known problem.

LEDs usually suck in the daytime (unless it's OEM like Audi etc), FYI.

Overall, me likes! I love the whole look of your car! I want some gloss black or plasti-dip wheels. If I had a silver or white car, I'm pretty sure we'd be twins! Great taste, sir.

Brake fade is caused by your brake fluid heating up too, not just because of the pads right?

Are you at seabright? Lol was there last week for a birthday party, ended up driving some drunk friends home LOL honorary DD right here

I'm over 60k in my 08 Lol still running strong!

Had that happen to me 2 weeks ago. Nothing but careless ******** these days. It feels like there's only a small amount of people who are conscious during the day and know what they're doing. Good thing I didn't see it cause I woulda flipped my ****.

Yeah the dip is really to protect the nicer paint underneath
The LED choice is still up in the air so hopefully something with great output and reasonably price comes my way soon. Thanks for the retrofit insight though, I'll definitely have to give that a try sometime. Likewise

Congrats on the retrofit! Like you say, with the bi-xenons there are no worries about any oncoming cars leaving their high beams on
You can also add some HIR bulbs to the high beams to beef them up also.

When I was researching my retrofit I remember reading about how to free up a sticky solenoid and get it running smoothly, maybe try a search on HIDplanet. Obviously though you'll have to put the housings back in the oven....

I have a few from previous owner, but I make an effort, to park alllllllll the way on the far side of every parking lot. My girlfriend hates it, but hey, it's good cardio.

Thanks man. Yeah definitely hah. Yeah maybe somewhere down the road when funds come in lol.
I contacted TRS and lightwerkz and they said they would send out some replacement solenoids but they have yet to send them and it will be a PITA to re open the headlights
