A month or so ago when I was at Otto's I saw a black, pre-02 2.5 for sale. Yours now?

If so, can I interest you in a set of four Michelin Arctic-Alpin winter tires that are off the MY00 2.5 I used to have but don't fit my 02 wrx? 205/60/15's on steel rims. Very little apparent wear about 8k winter use only. These tires are a very nice all round compromise in a winter tire - good at cold teperatures, good on ice, ok in snow and great on dry or wet pavement (and oh-so-quiet!).

Default Hooray Ottawa

Yes. That's my impreza now... can you believe it actually came with a bumper-to-bumper warranty until 180,000 KM!!! Or until 2004, whatever comes first... for free! Very lucky kid I am...

I'm not a member of the MCO YET... I was at the winter driving school last weekend, and met Jim M... I'll be at the Rally meeting on the 29th for sure.

Can't wait...

I'll be starting with local TSD Rallies... and in a few years I'll be doing Pro Rallies I hope... my ride is a daily driver... so no roll cage for a while.

I plan on being a member of the NCSC but the web site is never updated... so I've been relying on the MCO site to keep up to date. Maybe I can help with the NCSC web site update...

I've talked to you Robin, over email (casey...@yahoo.com).

Cheers,
Casey

Default West Side....

Another Ottawa member here...
There's a couple of RS's and WRX in Kanata.
I saw a Black RS with Steelies eariler this week parked in front of Harvey's in the Centrum... Never saw that one around before... who are you?
Ran into a guy with what seemed to be a modded RS at the Gas station a month or so ago, cool fella!
Including mine, there is 2 RS's on my street in fact!
One has a "slight" advantage over the other
By the way Ed... do you know how cool your car sounds when following behind? (not like a had a choice )

My RS is black.. steel rims.. but mine has a roofrack (seems like the only one in the world). It also has the wind deflector on the rack, so i'm obvious. I have clear side-tickers, and clear corners. My only other mod so far has been the 20mm rear sway bar (thanks Lachute!) and solid end-links.

Who am I?... 22 yrs old, work in high-tech in Ottawa, windsurfer, MTB'er, snowboarder, etc.

I'm in Kanata on the weekends, but I live in Westboro.

Can't wait to get my full upgraded exhaust soon... the same one that Jim M. is running on his RS..

Does Ottawa have meets?

Bzzt. Yours sounds pretty close to mine - Steel rims, Thule rack,
ski box, fairing, clear sides and corners, 18mm sway (lachute too).
Mine's blue and 4 doors though.

34 year old tech worker, MTB'r, skier.

Work near Westboro, spend all my time in Barrhaven.

Another Ottawa member here.

WRB WRX Sedan. Only mod so far is short-shifter (Thanks Lachute)

Live near Centrepointe area. High-tech worker as well. Also, like most of the others, cant seem to find enough snow, but can find plenty of salt. Carwash seems to only clean the car for 15min...maybe I should get some sort of car-wash membership plan...

Seen and talked to a couple of other WRX owners and made a trip out to see some of the Auto-X in the fall out near Metcalfe. Never gone to any of the meetings yet...drove by a few times but never see any cars, so always assumed meeting was over. (Now you tell me there is underground parking, duh)

Seem to see 3 other WRX guys regularly. WRB WRX Wagon (mornings on Baseline), WRB WRX Sedan (mornings near Hog's Back, and i think its the same one I see in the World Exchange Plaza all the time), Silver WRX Wagon (late afternoons on Meadowlands)

Anyways, good to meet a few others, even if its just a name online right now.

Chris Steketee

P.S. Pray for more snow please, im going nuts with this lack of snow this year. Donuts just dont work as well without a bit of ground cover)

I'm from Ottawa too. Got an Impreza that I may be able to drive some day too. Mods list is way too long. It depicts an unhealthy relationship with my car. I'm pleading with Rejean to have it finished for the 6th so I can bring it to the next meeting on the 7th.

I am in Bells Corners. Two Subies in the drive way, mine and hers, cars are just daily drivers.

Anyone have spectator info on Pierce-Neige-Maniwaki. Tall Pines has great spectator info on there site, but I have found zero on Maniwaki.

Smile More snow anyone?

I'm in Ottawa and new to Subaru. Just started checking out i-club when I began the hunt for my 2002 OBS in September. Quite a tough car to find. I ended up going to Lachute to pick it up. Great dealership.

I'm not a member of any of the clubs in Ottawa. I'd love to try rallying but the wife wouldn't let me take our baby to do it. Can anyone help me convince her otherwise

Cheers,

Glenn

Default No worries...

Glen,

Come out to some of the local MCO events... in two weeks we have a Solo II event where you get to drive a snow-covered (snow-protected) track at the Capital City Speedway.

Check out www.mco.org for more info...

There is no damage done to your car, and everthing is done in a controlled setting. Speeds never go over 35Km/h anyways.. it's a tight track.

my advice???... don't tell her! My mom would disown me if she even thought I was doing ANYTHING that involved helmets and my car!

btw.. you rent helmets at the track for $5/day.
