quick question: if i want to add coolant conditioner without flushing my coolant (reservoir is below full)
can i just add the conditioner into the reservoir? or do i have to add it into the radiator (like the bottle said) my local subbie dealership service guy said reservoir, parts guy said radiator... if i do radiator it looks like i have to drain coolant and it looks like a PITA

so i couldn't wait for an answer, and i couldn't find any answers on this board via searching....so i dumped some in the radiator (as much as i could) and the rest in the reservoir tank...went for a drive and it seems the conditioner in the reservoir tank got thinned out so i guess it's mixing nicely with the rest of the coolant in the system...
hopefully this stuff will remove that weird coolant-ish smell in my engine bay (no leak anywhere) edit: flame suit on in case i completely screwed up ![]() edit: upon googling again it seems dumping it all into radiator will be the best way to guarantee the stop-leak circulating through the entire system, so basically by dumping most of the conditioner into the reservoir i have no way of ensuring that the stop-leak will actually circulate through the whole system. is this true?!?!?!?!??!?!?!one Last edited by fusionchicken; 11-24-2007 at 04:19 AM. |

Its true. Use a turkey baster and get all the conditioner out of the reservoir, im sure its not mixed to well in there and then put it in the radiator.

it will eventually mix, but the idea is to get it all in there and circulating as quickly as possible. You can also use up to 2 bottles without changing the coolant.
