Default Talk me out of getting a G35!

Since I've been talking about selling my 05 wrx for the past year, i think its within reach. The car has never let me down and has been pretty good to me, but i'm tired and bored of it. The entire rice racer high school days are over and I really don't need the car for what it is. Thoughts of a switch to an 04-05 G35? I'm not into the "speed" factor anymore, just want something sporty with a bit of class and not far from my trade in price. I know there are a few people with nissans/infinty's so I would really appreciate some input.

Since threads without pics suck, here's some inspiration for my move!

you will get bored of this car too, but in the mean time you will probably add some mods to it. who knows maybe you'll regret getting rid of the subie and buy another one. i say trade you wrx in for a sti, you will be much happier.

i got mine 3yrs ago. this was the last silver G (MY04.5) i could find locally with
the brembo's. i love my G. feels and sounds great. i only drive her on the
weekends... not the most practical car, but can do as a daily driver too.

Why would you want to get something you only could drive 1/2 of the year? A subie is practal all year round, and sweet awd donuts.

It's an overpriced 350z. Get the 350z if you're looking at these.

But it is a better looking 350Z with a nicer interior and typically better dealer network. Either way they are the same car for the most part. Does your choice have to be a 2 door coupe or are you open to other choices?

I would look into a Legacy 2.5GT or something... It'll still move faster than most of the cars on the road and you'll be able to haul whatever you need inside it.

G35X if you miss the all-wheel drive. Neither the 350Z or G35/G37 are "fast" in stock form though.

No boost = lots and lots of ankle-biting mods to make 'em "fast", boost = $$$$$$$.

Personally? I love the G35 sedan + 6spd.... the Z33/G35 are great cars too, I don't think I'd drop the coin on them to boost them though.

Good narrow/high profile snows and sensible driving and RWD is no problem.

I'd get one if I were a balla like you or Ty. Actually, I like the 350Z better so I'd get one of those.

plus you can't beat the service department. I love taking my father's G35 in for service. They got a cook making you crapes and panini sandwiches. Ice cream, cookies, and a screening room with the fancy theater seats

My father doesn't have too much trouble in the winter, but has to reverse into the alley way if there is any snow on the ground, lol.

I am in the same boat as you. I don't care for speed anymore. I would love a car that looks better more then is fast anymore. My boy racer days were over long ago. the awd is nice though.

I can't argue with a Legacy GT. Nice upgrade from a WRX. More entertaining than the G35 Sedans I drove. If I want more power I can do it, but I'm leaving it stock for now.

idk see why you couldnt drive a g all year around, they have traction control you just gotta be carefull, you do in a suby too. (talking about the 2 door g here)And as for being the same as a 350 yes and no, they have a ton more cargo space, 2 more seats(coupe), and are like 2 feet longer, engine wise yes, they actually have a little less horsepower if you get the autostick, but man they are a blast to drive and that sound is just awesome.

ps they aint slow

I wouldn't drive a Supra in the snow or recommend it. Salt isn't going to be a 10+ year old cars friend. There's always the Corvette C5 or C6 (preferred). Unless you want to do snow tires or some really good all-seasons on a powerful RWD car I would stay AWD personally.

it only snows a few times a year...i don't see it being that big of a problem. with some winter tires it should be driveable. i don't see how it would be worse than my wrx which is slammed to the ground and on worn out stockers with uneven tire wear.

i have found a few for $20k, not with high miles.

i've never had a 2 door, and personally...the 4 doors are ugly.

i don't really miss awd...and i think it should be fast enough for me. the wrx wasn't fast enough stage 2 so i bought a crotch rocket.

I am considering an FJ Cruiser for a DD once the wrx is paid off in a few months.
