Default Car won't start - cranks but won't start

I searched and didn't really find the answer, so here goes.

Car was running fine, completely fine, until today. My car turns over, but won't start. Simple as that. I'm hoping its a dead battery since the battery light stays on when i turn the key to the on position, but that could be normal since i don't really pay attention to it normally.

Although, i am posting this since i am concerned that it is flooded, which is not good since i'm at school, and i have no where to work on the car. Any suggestions? Is it flooded?

Reason for maybe thinking it's flooded
this morning i went to my car to get my bike lock and noticed that someone had been parked in tight infront of my car. Therefore, i decided to move it back a bit, so i started it moved it back 5 feet, and turned it off.

Someone save me.

check the voltage of your battery and check the wiring connection of the battery, alternator and starter. IF possible get a charging system check at autozone.

Well i got the problem solved, and boy am i happy/relieved big time, because my parents and wallet would not have been happy if the tow truck company and dealer gave me their bills.

The car was flooded with fuel, and it took me about 2 or 3 tries with the gas pedal to get it to start. And when it did, there was a massive cloud of black smoke that came out of the prodrive tip.

Extremely relieved now

Did you step on the gas pedal all the way and then start the engine? Is that how you start an engine that's flooded?
