Default Overboosting????

Im not sure why but when I accelerate hard in 5th gear I hit a fuel cut a few seconds in. I tried to log it this morning but Im still new to the software and couldnt figure out how to record the log LOL. I did some reading though on here and saw that you press f1 to start recording. Nice that it doesnt tell you that ANYWHERE in the software.....

So my question is this. With both the stock map and a Stg2 map on the car Im hitting some kind of fuel or boost cut under heavy load in 5th. Do I need to adjust my WG arm? Maybe lower the target boost a lil? Its weird it only happens in 5th, I can run out 4th all the way.

My setup:
98 RS
02 US WRX engine
3" TBE catless
HKS SSQ BOV
XPT STG2 map

I appreciate any help

Edit: Also, when I run the logger I select the MAP pressure to log as well. To figure out my boost level I subtract atmospheric pressure from the value shown right?

OK, I tried it again at lunch. I still cant record data with the enginuity logger. I tried setting it to work off of the defog switch, i tried F1...nothing makes it start recording. Can anyone help me please with this?

I did a 4th into 5th gear pull and logged AF and Map Relative Pres.(figured out that shows boost easier). In 4th gear Im logging 17.5psi, when I hit 5th its somewhere around 19psi, holds for awhile and then just cuts.....The boost doesnt seem to be creeping up any higher, nice and flat at 18.5 or 19.

Edit: The AF is holding 11:1 flat.

In 'settings' in the Enginuity logger, make sure 'control file logging with defogger switch' is selected. Also in settings is 'log output file location' which will tell you which directory the logs are being saved. If that still doesn't work, then likely, since this is a swap, you don't have the defogger switch wired up correctly.

Thanks for the reply

The defogger works, the window gets hot and the lil orange light on it lights up when pressed.

Ive tried selecting and de-selecting the defogger switch. I also directed the logs to goto the desktop. I get no files whatsoever.

Does it only log data mode? Or graphs and dashboard too? Ive been trying to log the graphs, is that my problem?

I also dl'd the enginuity test release to try on the way home

The ECU has to be able to monitor the defogger switch which is a whole separate issue from whether the defogger works or not. You can use the test release which will allow you to begin logging to file without the defogger.

You can check to see if the defogger switch is being monitored by logging it in switches and seeing if the bit flips as you turn it on and off.

Ok, I can log now with the test release version. It looks a LOT different then the one in the enginuity software.

Thanks for the help!
