Default Dodge Neon Turbo Drivers

I'd just got my sick 17month old to bed last night and some moron in worst sounding loudest dodge I've ever heard came out a side road opposite our house... wheels spinning, popping and banging orque steering his way down my street - and promptly woke up my son... GRR

What engine does that thing have - it sounded so bad... like it'd never had any oil, the turbo charger had sand coated bearings and it then cut out at the light at the end of the street???

There should be "nice sounding loud exhaust police" -

Sorry Sir - you car sounds like a bag of bolts in a tumble dryer - $1500 please...

It was probably a SRT4 with a dump tube or a e-cutout. Personally I think they sound sick, but they are really really loud, and I can definitely see how they can be annoying. I hate people that do stupid **** in the SRT4 and give them a bad rep. They really are a nice car and a nice base to go from, but its people like this that absolutely ruin it for others.

2.4L Turbo, same block as the PT Cruiser, I believe

... They really do sound horrible. There was one at the gas station the other day that sounded like it had straight pipes... of course, he had to give me the BOV / rev and the staredown as he backed out of his parking spot

The car had potential... too bad the majority of the owners have stomped its reputation.

I'm down for having fun in cars, just not in quiet residential areas. Guess I'm only thinking that way because I'm getting old and I'm a dad... but at 10pm on a 30mph St it's a bit much... We've had bikers doing wheelies the past few weeks too - My neighbours have suggested putting bent nails in the street!

I bet those Dodges have crazy torque steer...

Same block as the old stratus 2.4L as well. However I think the cam timing might be a little different and the turbo is different than the PT as well, along with some other stuff like the exhaust manifold and intake manifold. Used to know exactly, but it seems i've forgotten.

I'm with you...getting old and being a dad. I'm basically pushing my subaru thru my neighborhood at night, as to not upset anyone.

This kid must be a really poor driver, considering the srt's amazing prowess in the corners...with that rake ride height and steamroller size tires.

Nope... you can only get moffles and an alaiment.

I chuckle everytime I drive by that place... for those that are wondering, it's on Buckeye in Avondale right before you cross into Goodyear.

West past the Circle K on MC85(Buckeye road) and Central in Avondale...

Funny thing though.. I would always see him parked there almost EVERY day after work on my way home, he must work there...Or has a few cousins there...

I need betar piks though =[ Its WAY worse then those piks...I drove by and literally my jaw dropped as to how much damage was done...It must have flipped on its front end...

i used to live on 35th ave and the 101, across the street from a school, with 20 mph speed bumps, and there was a rex and srt-4 racing down the street at 9ish at night...my street was maybe 1/2 mile long, maybe.
