Unhappy Rear Main Seal problem

Ok, Im back on here again. THanks for the comments and help guys and gals. I have a more serious problem now than the door issue. I have a rear main seal that needs to be replaced. Now I'm not a sub tech and dont know much about these boxters but doesnt the block split on them??? I called a few places and it would seem cheaper and easier for me to drop in an early 2.5 NA. I could use some real help with this one. Also I need to have a tranny seal replaced so I thought about having a shop do it when they do the trannys but it would be about an extra 400-500 to replace it. Its too cold for me and my brother to do a swap but if its gonna cost more than 800 to do it I can buy a boneyard 2.5 and drop it. Any insight would be awesome, thanks people.

You do not split the block to replace it. Be careful in it's removal and installation.

yeah if you live in alaska its probably not something you want to do out side. the trans has to be pulled to do it. its really not much of a job besides pulling the trans (and clutch if you got one) and replacing the seal. like mike said, you just have to make sure you install the seal correctly
