I wouldnt waste your money. Its still crappy and has horrible sound quality, go aftermarket, will most likely be cheeper to. Unless of course you are going for a factory only look.

I have a 2010 2.5i Impreza. I just installed the AUX cable and everything was going fine until I was going to screw in one of the 4 screws that holds the Head Unit in place and I dropped the screw. It fell below the Head Unit area and I can see it but it will not budge and I cannot get the last clip off on the right side on the silver trim piece. Can anyone give me some suggestions on how to get that last clip off? Its bugging the hell out of me that the screw is there.

just remove the shifter trim if you want to instead, it lifts up with some clips, very easy
hopefully you can find it, I dropped one and never saw it again even though I have removed everything including the carpet before

but its only 30 cents from subaru each

Already tried removing the shifter trim, no luck. Its somewhere lodged where the air controls are located and the only way to get to it is if that entire silver trim piece is removed. I know the screw is cheap its just that I can actually see it but can't get to it without removing the silver trim piece completely.

Haha yup, I can feel it "grab" the screw but the screw will not budge. I realize that means it's probably not going anywhere but its just bugging the hell out of me and would really like to get it.

Is there an easier way to take off the front AV Panel? Just got my JDM AV panel and am going to be doing an AV swap here soon. I'm a little worried about pulling on my far right trim piece.

There's no removal of any parts needed.... just pull the edge of the AV panel trim, and work your way around it, and it'll pop out. This is how I've been doing it for the last two years... You might want to try a thin plastic item (something "softer" than the panel so you don't scratch it) to pry it off with, but I am able to just use my fingers...

Like above said, been stated many times. No need to remove the lower HVAC piece, just the AV piece

I just installed an Alpine IDA-X303 in my 09 rex. I used the Scosche Kit w/ the pocket b/c my head unit is a single DIN.....everyone has been commenting that the Scosche kit fits perfectly but I had a little trouble putting it together. Am I fail?

The screws that attach the pocket don't really hold it there very well. Also, after mounting the head unit chassis into the dash kit, the side mounts are kind of bent outwards b/c the head unit is pushing them outwards. After tightening the side screws down it got a little better but its not completely (hella) flush. Am i installing it improperly?

I've attached a picture diagramming my fitment issue. Also, it doesn't look like there's room for the trim ring to fit. Is this normal? Any possibility the IDA-X303 is a little larger than the CDA, CDE series? Thanks for looking.

Did you verify that the stereo you are using is actually a true single DIN size?

Are you maybe referring to the grounding wire that attaches to the clip on the stereo chassis?

That's a grounding wire, eh? OK. Just trying to understand why on my harness I don't have a wire for the dimmer. Anyone else have this issue?

On the stock stereo you're talking? Does the stereo lighting dim when you put the lights on, then get brighter/darker with the light dial on the dash?

I'm not sure about the Pioneer DEH 3100 IB (aftermarket HU), but some HUs don't have a dimmer wire. Either the mfr wanted to save a few pennies, or they use a different scheme for dimming (e.g., ambient light sensor, GPS time/location).

Also, some cheaper radio installation harnesses omit the pin/wire to connect to the car's dimmer wire.
