Default 07 wrx oil change question

ok...this is my secon oil change, well the first time i did the oil i bought was the 5qt. bottle so i had to guesstimate how much i put in.., i thought it was four but when i put a lil more than 4qts.(just to be safe) i started the car and checked the oil it was just above the low oil mark, so i put all 5 qts. and when i checked it, it was just a lil over the full mark....WTF??.....BTW i always drain my oil for like 30 mins so i know all the old oil is out.

So, the second time(today) i bought 5 seperate 1qt. bottles, put in 4 qts. in same thing happened with the first time...so i put in the last qt. and basically a quater full, a lil more over the low mark

want to know if this is right??
how much do you guys put in yours?

Read the Oil FAQ....it's in the Service & Maintenance forum or inside that damn Unabomber's Manifesto.

Remember...your oil filter holds a good amount of oil..that accounts for losses. Filling up oil passages accounts for losses. All reasons why you go from low to high.

Just dump a 5qt in your car and quit worrying. MANY of us do this and though we are techinically slightly over full....there's no need to worry.

with all five quarts, you'll end up burning a little anyway so just do the five and your fine.
