Default Does anyone want to trade their stock ECU with ECUtek?

I'm selling my Baja and would like to make an attempt to turn it back to stock. Is anyone interested in trading me their 05 Baja Turbo ECU for mine with an ECUtek license? PM me if interested thanks.

Jon

I would also be interested in selling the turbo and STI TMIC for your stock turbo +cash so everything can be plug and play.

I might be interested but mine is an 04 auto turbo. Do you know how we could check the compatibility?

I have no idea, generally Manual and Auto ECUs are different.

discowagon,

i just talked with a ecutek licensed tuner here in atlanta that is VERY experienced (used to be with local subaru dealer and now with private tuner) he told me that on an 05 model that your ecu is "locked" to your car and cannot be installed on any other car, 05 or not.

sorry it didn't work.

Maybe he is trying to sell you something? I have bought ECUs with ECUtek licensing and swapped them onto another car. Maybe this is only for the Baja? I highly doubt that. He might mean that the ECU is locked with ECUtek forever.

Yeah i know the later ecutek reflashes lockout anyone else from reflashing it, including the dealership if you wanted to go back to stock.

However as far as I know the 05 Baja has no way of knowing that its in a different car. So this ECU should plug into another 05 M/T baja with no problem.

now an 05 legacy is a differnt story, but that doesn't apply to our bajas since we are based off the old legacy platform.

How much are you looking to get for the ECU? Or is it a straight up trade?

thanks for the feedback. the tuner said that 04 was o.k. but 05 was locked. he made it sound like it was a subaru thing not ecutek. i guess i should have paid closer attention anyway because mine's an auto.
