Question Getting tires on Friday and need help...

So my winter beater is down and I might have to drive the WRX some this winter. I live in Columbus, Ohio and drive 30 miles everyday to and from work.

Although the roads stay clear most of the time (with the help of SALT), I have to worry about a lot of side roads that never get paved and accumulate a couple feet of snow at times.

I'm in need of a tire that will fit the wheels that are already on the car and will last around 20k miles. It needs to be a good all-season tire. Would like to have some kind of warranty. Must be under $600.00 mount and balanced.

The Car:
2003 WRX Sedan
Prodrive Springs
17 x 7.5 Rota Grids
225/45zr17 Kuhmo Ecsta summer tires (2 need replaced bad)

The tires I'm looking at now are Kuhmo Ecsta ASX and Falken Ziex ZE-512 (225/45zr17). They are around $600 out the door from Discount Tires. I wasn't too impressed with the Kuhmos I have now and don't have too much faith in the ASXs.

I tried searching but I'm on bit of a schedule. (It will snow any day now)

The car does need an alignment. The two bad tires are not because of cupping or uneven wear. They have a bunch of tire plugs in them..

I tried to get an alignment from both Pepboys and Sears. They both could not align it because of one bs reason or another. They just don't want to work on a lowered car. Sears never even put it on the lift. Is it possible to get a good alignment with the prodrive springs without having to buy other parts?

Scotty what tires would you recommend?

PS It snowed pretty bad last night. Very interesting drive to work this morning.

Do they have a tiresplus near you? I have had my car aligned there and they never flinched at the prodrive springs. Or maybe post up in your local forum and find a good private shop that doesn't get its panties in a twist over a set of damn springs.

And I don't really see a problem with the 512's I had on my last car. I don't know about them in a heavy snow but for an A/S they weren't horrible. I would get the replacement 912 for a few bucks more...but I am a fan of updated designs.

I am currently running a new set of the Goodyear Eagle F1 A/S and it sort of snowed here this morning enough to make the roads a skating rink....and they did just fine. They probably would have been more comfortable with a little more snow.

Not all-season and under $600 at discount tire.
