I've had the car for about 3 weeks now and as I was washing the car I noticed a spot behind the rear passenger side wheel on the wheel well where the paint is bubbling and a piece about the size of a nickel is gone!!! This has to be a warrenty issue right?
Any one else have this problem or delt with a simular situation? What did SOA do about it? ![]()

Anyone know if paint chips are covered on a 8 month old car with 20000 miles and 20000 chips in the hood and fenders. (It's never been off road, unfortunatly).

I posted this elsewhere on the board. But last week while washing my car, a 3" diameter piece of paint "washed off" my rear bumper. That's right it washed off!! No chips, scratches or nicks in the paint to initiate the peeling, just soap and water!
I have notified my dealer of the problem. Although they seem to think that stuff like that would only be covered in the 3 yr./36K warranty. So in your case you should be covered. However I have a harder case to prove, I have close to 60K. I'll post whatever the outcome. If the dealer is not responsive to my requests, then SOA will be getting a letter. I love Subarus, but are you telling me that after 3 years, the paint is allowed to slide off?!? Good luck with your dealer. Peace, Oqui |
