Thumbs up Ground Control for Legacy?

I have been looking for a cheap way to put together a ajustible hight coil over system. A few people have mentioned ground control but i have not be ble to find any for a legacy. Is there a kit for legacy my1996 if so where do u buy them and do u think it would be a good idea for ground controls with AGX's. If there are no GC's how does gt springs with AGX's sound. Thanx for the help

Ground Control makes their famous sleeves for Subaru.

Any suspension part that fits an Impreza will almost certainly fit a Legacy.

Keep in mind that the Legacy is heavier, but they should give you higher rate springs as well.

It remains my intent to do a GC/AGX combo in my car. The Whiteline (wagon?) springs have spring rates of 190lbs/in front and 160 lbs/in rear (correct me if I'm wrong) for a spring giving a 1 inch drop. I expect that you would be best served with springs with either the same or slightly stiffer rates in the GC (something like 225f and 185r)*.

True that... there are springrate guides around, and I thought there were some for GC.

1st Rule of Subaru Aftermarket: If you don't see it on their site, they probably make it.

Call 'em, i know a number of people using them on 1G Legacy Wagons, and there are a lot of GC8 Impreza owners using them as well.

I have Ground Controls on my 99 Legacy with currently 250/225 rates with 8" springs. I am still a little bouncy. I wanted to go down to 200/175 in 9" springs because of the bounce, for one, and reason two is that even with 250/225 rates when I have the car raised all the way up the weight makes the car ride height a little under stock.

Unfortunitely they don't make 9" springs in rates other then 315/280 = Way too Stiff!!!!

Good Luck,
Brad

I am using FHI Ver 5 struts.

I used the struts on my Legacy before in combination with H&R Sport Springs and had no bounce problems.

I'm trying to replicate that ride qaulity with the Ground Conrtols except I will have the ability to adjust the height of the car.

I guess I will now search for springs that will work with my Ground Controls but with rates that I want and in a length that I want.

Are you using the stock top mounts?

I noticed a huge, very noticeable difference with my coilovers when i swapped in the STi top mounts. It's also a common cure for bounciness on the DMS and Teins.

Just a thought.

Up till now it has been cheaper to pay only shipping to swap out softer springs from Ground Controls used bin. I have a few options to weigh.
