Default New wheels

Does anyone have experience with putting on larger wheels on a WRX. I want to put on a set for this summer but I'm concerned about bending them. What's the safest size you can go to??

I just bought the Rota subzero from Mike Moffa (from Revolutions Motorsports).

I just got them Friday, 17" 7x7.5 in bronze, they're look great! And at 500 USD for a set of mags at 16.5 lbs, this is a great deal!

I would stick to 17" max, too many potholes in Canada... just my opinions.

Etam,
Mike Moffa went all the way down to Wisconsin and brought back everything in a van. A 40 hours drive week-end, crazy guy.. It came out to 1150 CDN all inclusive, this is about 100$ more expensive than if I had brought them myself from LA (I travel there on business...). So I thought it was a good deal.

You should pm him (username: Mike Moffa) or checkout the www.montreal-subaru-club.com and ask him about it. When I went Saturday, he still had two sets left, one black and one gun metal (real nice).

Good luck,

Matt

I am also looking into purchasing 17" wheels for the WRX. Will probably go with 215/45/17 tires. I understand that for the WRX, you need to go with an offset of 48mm+.
Are there any good places to shop for wheels in Canada online or is it better to get them from the US. I live in the Maritimes so I was also wondering if anyone else had bought wheels for their Subarus in this area. Thanks

canadawrx,

Hi, we're looking to buy wheels for the WRX as well... to answer your question about who in the Maritimes has aftermarket wheels, well the salesguy in Moncton has some Konigs on his. He got it through the dealership (I think). We went at a shop in Shediac, the only wheel they could get a quote for us at the time were Team Dynamics. Is there a aftermarket shop in St-John?? My father is probably going to Montreal in May, he's gonna contact Lachute to see what they have in stock, and if they have what he wants, well he might just get it from them. The minimum you can go is +48mm, our wheels come with +55mm.

So is there an issue with going to 7.5"? Or will the wheel rub when turning the steering wheel sharply?

7.5 inch wide rims won't rub (if you have the proper offset), go to tirerack.com to see what fits and what doesn't. Goodluck
