Default 05 sti front bumper question...

Hi, Whats the easiest way to align up my front bumper. I read all the threads on how to install/remove it, but I think I should be able to adjust it,align it, without removal. I had the dealer replace the headlight ballast and when I got it home I realized the gap between the pass fender and the bumper is too wide. the drivers side seems fine but the pass side seems like it dropeed some. Is there a way, trick, to get this gap right. It needs to be lifted up then somehow secured, perhaps with a clip or plastic stud.... any hints.. phil PS. I know I can bring it back to the dealer but it looks so easy if I knew how. Well, worth a shot here.. thanks guys and gals... have a happy holiday

look for bolts near the rad that hold the bumper there, loosen it then tug on the bumper in the way it needs to be tugged then tighten the bolt while holding bumper in place.

i dunno if this will help but its a good place to get started

Did the dealer remove the bumper to install the ballast? If so I would just take it back and make them do it. They have the tools and should have done it right the first time.

the clips that secure the upper most part of the bumper to the fender

should not be reused

they really should be replaced

likely (without seeing a photo) all you need is to replace this clip
that will close the gap and lock it into place

part number 81910ta100

I know that when I have had to remove these clips -
I've found that they do not hold as well if you try to reuse them.

Now, I just replace them.

Hey guys thanks.. Ill try all the above.. The dealer will definitely do the job as like I said it was there removal that made this happen. Ill try the home remedies, thanks again, if that fails Ill just do the dealer thing. I didnt know about the clips being reused though.. Priceless info here.. have a nice holiday guys thanks phil

I'm guessing these are the reason my front bumper is able to move around so much...had work done a a crappy body shop

They are definitely one time use and for what...$1.56 its much easier to run a knife blade in the gap and cut it, then to sit there and try to get it out and reuse it.
