Brand new CF trunk for $415 shipped, can this be real?

Found this browsing through ebay.

Ive searched the forums and their name doesn't come up. Ive went to their website and it looks like they only make parts for motorcycles. Anyone ever had experience with this company and their CF trunk? It would be a steal at that price if it was legit. I doubt the picture they're posting is the actual trunk.

Never heard of the company but if it sounds too good to be true... well, you know how the rest of the phrase goes. I would think that the quality/fiutment of the product at this price range would be piss poor. Just my two cents...

with CF parts you usually get what you pay for.
To produce a quality mold takes time money and R&D.
(I know what I'm talking about- I build plastic injection molds for a living)

For smaller CF parts its one thing, but when your talking about hoods and trunks, There is probably a good chance that the fit wont be 100%

Either it'll be warped, or the gaps between body panels wont be right.

I made that mistake when I was younger ( 10 years ago)
When I bought a cheap CF hood for my CRX...didnt fit at all.

Same goes for fiberglass parts....buy cheap fiberglass it'll fit like poo
I bought a Mugen fiberglass wing for my fathers TSX and it went on like a OEM part.

...But in this case I would possibly dissagree. The company makes a lot of carbon fiber parts for motor-bikes so they have a lot of experience making parts in CF.

From what I Can tell they dont typically make "Large" items in CF so your pattern may me uneven or off, and the OEM fitting might also be off, but so are most CF applications.

For 300 bucks its totally worth it IMO. Just call or email them asking some basic questions and try not to sound skeptical. thats what I would do. And be sure to ask about the inside of the trunk and if it is made of fiberglass or what.

I always paint my CF parts for weight savings....so if its for performance purposes than go for it!

I would so be on this if I had an older model impreza for it to be compatible with.

Say what you may about the product but "carbon fiber" is "carbon fiber" and it is not every day a good... no a GREAT deal comes by and bites you in the ARSE.

I have very little doubt that these trunks are poor quality. Thats why I asked if anyone had experienced with them. I dont need anyone to tell you get what you pay for. Im just ask skeptical as the rest of you, if I wasn't, I would already own one. Oh and by the way, Ive purchased a brand new cf hood from TFT, a company no one has ever heard of, for my maxima. I would have to say, for 200 bucks, the quality was excellent. The only difference is that I got to see the hood before I purchased it.

I just got off the phone with my cousin, he's owned a handfull of GSXRs.

I asked if he ever heard about Pit Eck...he said to stay away, that they are cheap crap parts.

And some searching on googled confirmed this.

The only difference is that I got to see the hood before I purchased it.
