Default Anybody want to sell me a beater Impreza...like right now?

My car died this morning as I came to a stop sign. No loud bang or smoke or anything, just dead. I'm hoping it's something simple like the battery or alternator, but I just assume the engine is toast.

The crank pulley was grinding against some bare metal pushing through the plastic timing belt cover last night and making a horrible whirring sound. Now it looks like the timing belt cover is bulging out and the pulleys are digging into it. Did I snap a timing belt maybe? The engine is hemhorraging oil from everywhere, and the check engine light has been going on and off for months now.

Either way, the engine is on it's last legs, and I might need a car by this weekend if I can't get it running. I'm looking for cheapness, just something to get me back and forth to work for a little while.

Who's got a dirt cheap Subaru for me?

I saw that last night actually, because I had a feeling my car was about to die. It's a great deal, but I don't feel like driving 8 hours round trip.

That sounds quite not good. The crank pulley isn't loose or wobbling, but it was grinding against some bare metal last night. This morning, I noticed the bare metal it was grinding against has completely vanished. I are confused.

Why don't you think about just flying down (you can get cheap flights from Orlando to Ft. Lauderdale: Like $80 cheap)

How much do you want for your "non-running" machine?
