Default 1st and Reverse hard to engage

so when i shift into 1st and reverse sometimes i need to use two hands to pull it into reverse. any idea whats going on with my car?????????

if your put in your clutch and try to engage reverse and it is hard to do, release the clutch pedal and then repress it and try again.

You should never force the shifter into any gear. If you have to use two hands to shift then that should ring a bell in your head that something isn't right and maybe you should stop before you hurt your synchros or worse. The trick is to either let go of the clutch then push it in again or shift into a few other gears and try 1st or reverse again. If you're moving and want to go into 1st at like 5mph, the trick is to give it some gas.
