Default NoVA HVAC supply houses??

Can anybody recommend a good one? I'm in Leesburg. My heat went out tonight...brrrrr!! I checked the system over and it's the gas valve....took it off and there's a corroded contact.

a quick google search on the p/n shows it's $20. Got the gas insert fireplace running tonight....don't care to pay $500 for an emergency service call tonight.

I know right where one is in Manassas. It is on Euclid Avenue...but that is probably a little far for you.

true. it's holding steady at 69F in the baby's room, which is all I care about. I've slept outdoors in the teens....you deal with it.

it is. he asked me if 'it had to be wired up' - well, if you call pushing two spade terminals on wired up, yes. it's a bit frustrating....if I got as far as knowing what the faulty part is, you'd think I can figure out how to push a spade terminal on.

$465 later, the heat is back on. The part was $122. Labor = $333. For 90 minutes work.

the p/n that supercedes the one that failed was a different design....the whole manifold had to come out....decided to err on the side of caution and let RA Dobson do it. Nice guys. Pointed out the humidifier install was wrong....this was the cause of the gas valve failure actually (dripping = corrosion). At least we got that done right this time (vs. the $600 I spent having that installed by another company )

+1

A couple other places to try:

http://www.tsomerville.com/content/hvacsales.html

http://www.ferguson.com/BusinessGroups/hvac.shtml

I have purchased various plumbing items at all 3 places without hassle. But the gas bits may be restricted because of liability.

EDIT: Sounds like you got it done right. Personally, natural gas lines/appliances are one aspect of home repair I try to avoid.

agreed. I was ok with removing two screws and moving two spade terminals on but when it came to yanking the gas manifold out and replacing the whole thing, I bowed out. Not something I wanted to fool with, though it's not much different than you'd think.
