Default Avondale Subaru FTW!

Long story short - my car threw a code and started to overheat (My AP said it was @ 258 deg. F when i spotted the CEL). As it was still under the main warr. it was towed down Avondale Subaru; But, Even though the car got to em after 5pm they Still stayed there to look it over and find a fix...

Just want to post up here on what a great job they did. She is still running cool now - Thanks for the help guys!

Do we really need FTW or FTWFM threads once a week? There _is_ a dealer review section of this site.

**Sorry for the long post....**

Been busy - here is the 'detailed' version of events;

Issue was rather honestly rather dumb. In fact mostly due to me not checking the simple things.

We were Idling at Sonic - went to go and I noticed the check engine light. As i had my AP w/ me I hooked it up and saw the code (I forget the # off hand)... but it also stated the cooling fans were not working. W/ that I then looked over @ my temp gauge and went HOLY F#$K!!... Temp was 258 F and rising.

As the car is still new and as I honestly panicked I called Avondale Subaru, was told to get it down there and given the 1800 # for road-side service.

The end result.. and we never did find out why..... But somehow Both 20Amp fuses blew - at once. That would easily stop em from working and well... no cooling = Very hot engine.

You can bet I'm going to look things over in more detail next time.

Either way - They opted to stay late (as the car got to em after 5pm) and get it working... which they did.

A+ job guys - thanks again. And yes.. i now have a ample supply of fuses in the car lol.

I am open to any ideas as to what might have caused the fuses to blow in the first place.
-A bit about my car - the only electrical work I have done is to run two power feeds direct off the Hot side of the batt. One is on 8ga. and has a 150 amp fuse about 6 inches off the batt. It runs to the rear where there is a 40 Amp before a few additional 20 amps on my Amp.
-There is a second, 16 Ga. line off the Hot side of the Batt. This has a 15 amp fuse on it about 6 inches from the batt and runs direct to my LCD.
As for Ground -
-The LCD/Brain are hooked up via the stock connectors.. I bought an adapter so its a simple plug/play.
The rear amp has an 8ga that runs to a chassis bolt that was sanded down to make a "metal-to-metal" contact.
-all leads are either coated with an insane amount of shrink tube/elect. tape or the above and an added layer of rubber.
-The car has had this system in it/running for over 3 months... if there was an issue before - I assume it would have shown up before now?
-I have also done elect. work on about 6 other cars - mine and friends. I have rebuilt a car's wire harness after a friend melted his due to WAY too much current.... So i feel good w/ my skills...

-- I kinda doubt it is my elect. work that would have caused the issue... but as i listed it in detail above - maybe one of you can spot an issue w/ it? (and i can then fix it )

It could also be a random fluke.... who knows.
@ the time they checked the engine out, they reported the head gasket was in good shape - so no worries there. I just hope either this - or something else - never happens again.
