Default Michelin Pilot pricedrop...A/S?

I was just wondering if the pricedrops were due to the "new" Michelin Pilot Sport A/S coming out. Has anyone tried these A/S's? I think I remember reading that they have a "W" groove instead of a "V" and that the tread life is greatly increased. Anyway, just wondering if any one had any info one these and if it is really worth the extra $$.

A/s stands for All-Season

So, I don't think they are even in the same tire category.

I guess that's why I was a little confused. I've checked a couple of tire places and they come up in the same category.

I checked TireRack and set the filters to Michelin and Max performance only and came up with this link

...ok ok a couple days ago the $248 ones had totaly different specs vs the $177 ones. Now they're all the same

ASK and ye shall receive:
I just called a sales sales guy and he told me the Pilot Sports are discontinued and are being replaced by the A/S's. That's why the regular Pilots are priced lower
