Default Help Me Find A New Job Please!:)

Whats up everybody.

I just wanted to see if anyone around this area is working for a company or knows of a company that has a position open in their IT department.

I am a computer technician and have been working as a helpdesk rep for a year. Honestly its driving me nuts sitting behind a desk all day.

Let me know if you guys know of anything. Trust me I am easy to get along with.

Thanks
Brad

I have been working around computers for years since DOS 6 and windows 3.1. I just started taking them apart about 3 years ago. I decided to take an A+ course that also had basic Net + stuff and a good bit of MS Office exposure. After graduating and passing the A+ exam I went to work for a company that gave me a chance to really get my hands on everything from running Cat 5 from wall jacks into hubs to administrator user profiles in Windows 2000. That company made some financial mistakes and closed up shop. That left me here at my current job as a help desk rep. The bank I work for is using Netware and Groupwise. So I now know a little about that. I know very little about Linux but am willing to learn.

I am interested in everything from a basic hardware software service technician to a network administration position. I am probably more ready to jump into a hardware/software service tech position without needing anymore training or certs. However I want to be in a network admin type of position. For that I would need a little hands on training.

Sorry for such a long winded answer.

Thanks
Brad

http://www.esspos.com/ I worked here for a while as and installer for McDonalds point of sale equipment hours were long but the pay was good and I traveled a lot (might cause stress at home which is why I quit) you do everything from pulling Cat5 to setting up servers and rack mounts plus wireless headsets. Pretty easy work IMHO all I needed was my A+ and the fact I am a closet computer geek helped out a lot. I think most of the IT jobs are down county though at least they were when I was looking.
If you need some work in the mean time I can most likely get you in moving furniture for the family to hold you over if needed.

Thanks for the info Gordon.

I am just bored out of my mind sitting here all day. I was going to try and work into a service tech position here at the bank but I just got word from my supervicor that the position he budgeted for got cut. So now its time to look. I refuse to be a vegetable for another year at this place waiting for a position to "Maybe" open up. Its currently paying our bills so I'm not jumping out until I find something good.

A friend at FDA (Food and Drug Administration) said as soon as a position opens up he wants to come work with him. Who knows when that will be. Apparently Congress needs to award funding to the dept of aggriculture. Then they will have a position available.

We'll see.

Again Thanks Gordon!!

Brad

Do you have any examples of your work posted online? I am always looking for some one to keep in my back pocket for new web page deals as they come up. It is all side work, but it is good beer money.
