Default Audi Racks Up 33,000 New A4 Orders In The First Few Days

Quote:
The new Audi A4 sedan has been available for test driving at Audi dealerships for just a few days now – in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Italy, Belgium and the Netherlands.

“At the time of market launch in the first European countries we already counted 33,000 customer orders,” said Ralph Weyler, Member of the Board of Management at AUDI AG for Marketing and Sales. “The orders received and the impressive response from customers and the media have exceeded all our expectations. From our perspective, this is an extremely positive sign. As our most-sold model, the Audi A4 holds a special significance with respect to our ambitious goals.

Although the new A4 sedan is just now being launched, it has already won some major awards. The new A4 was honored with the “Golden Steering Wheel” as best midsize car by Bild am Sonntag newspaper, and also received the Auto Trophy 2007 from Auto Zeitung magazine. The sedan outdid its competitors handily in the numerous comparison tests performed by Auto Zeitung and auto motor und sport magazines. In the individual test carried out by auto motor und sport, it achieved the top five-star rating.

With these honors, the new A4 moves seamlessly into the successful footsteps of its predecessor. As the eighth generation of the midsize sedan, the new model replaces a highly successful generation that rolled off the line for the last time in November of 2007, and one that sold about 2.2 million units worldwide.

In January 2008 the new Audi A4 will also be launched onto the market in France and Spain, and will then gradually be introduced in the remaining European countries. In the United Kingdom, Audi’s strongest export market in terms of sales, the A4 will start selling at the end of February 2008.

This car is beautiful...
just because it does not have flares, fins and spoilers everwhere, does not mean its ugly. Its a refined beautiful and elegant.

I would buy one in a second.

only same component is the Motor and thats only if its the 2.0t motor thats being used, the 6cyl is different between Audi and VW VR vs Regular V. And they don't look similar at all beside having 4 doors.

Ah. They're not a shared platform anymore? When did that change?

Audi makes some of the prettiest cars. I've liked the look of the A4 for the past 7 years, new one looks good too.

Thats because Sony, or no other gamemaker does preorders as far as I know. The marketing tool is to see the overnight tents outside the stores on the evening news.

Doesn't seem unlikely with the fact that orders opened up in um....5 or 6 countries? Couple that with euro brand loyalty, and it seems very realistic.

I just traded in my 02 WRX for an 06 A4 and I love it. Its not as quick but a huge improvement from the WRX overall. I considered waiting for the newest A4, too.

I think it's beautiful too. But I agree that it's boring. You pay a base price of $31,000 for the cheapest AWD variant and all you get is 200HP to move 3,400 lbs. That is overpriced and weak. Add some options and you can pay $40,000 for a sports sedan that minivans will out accelerate. No thanks.

they are very nice looking cars, but sadly they are piles of poo

I've had a few friends who worked for audi as salesmen and mechanics and they all say the same thing

it seems like all the luxury saloons are just turnover cars, don't bother buying one, just lease it, because you'll get rid of it sooner than you'll pay it off

they're not built to last, they know people who buy these cars have money and in a couple of years when everything starts to fall apart will just sell it and come back to buy another one

or they'll just trade in when the new body style comes out, god forbid anyone sees them in anything else other than a brand new car
