Unhappy HID problem

I bought and installed one of those K2 Hid kits that came with 6000k bulbs about a week ago and now, one of the bulbs won't stay on. It'll charge up about half way and fizzle out! I've tried switching the ballasts and ignitor from the other side of the car and still no luck. Any clues?

I don't have any experience on HID, but you may try to switch the bulbs to see if it is the problem of the bulb or the problem of other components

The fuses were the first things I checked. Both sets of ballasts and ignitors tested good. The problem is that bulb but what can cause it to go bad? Thanx for the help guys.

if its a good company they should have warranty. Id try that route. Sounds like a bad bulb to me.

Yeah, they do have warranty. I brought it back to the store I bought it from and they're sending the bulb back for replacement. Too bad the store didn't just exchange it for me since I saw a kit sitting on the shelf a few feet in front of me. Now to put my stock bulbs back and wait for a couple of weeks.

my friend is experiencing this same prob with his hid kit... though its a different hid kit, the prob follows the bulb... if he flicks the light on then off again and agian, it eventually goes on... its just an inconvenience... I think replacing the bulb should do the trick...

Nope, no realy kit was used. I had that happen to me a few times where the light flickered off but that was the bad bulb. The other bulb works just fine. The instructions say to use 30amp fuses. Isn't that a big jump from our 15? Won't the wires get hot from the high current?

I can turn mine one when i have hand brake up (to the point that it indicator light shows up anyways)

when i'm in gear and actually rolling, one of them would go on, the other would flash and stay off.. i think both eventually comes up but i usually just turn them on with a little handbrake

then again, me having the old school 4200k phillips and automatic... proabably just applies to me :/
