Talking Hey Puerto Ricans...

How do I convince my GF that we should take a trip to PR instead of Mexico or Hawaii???

Give me the pros/cons of PR.

Granted this trip probably won't take place until fall/winter 2003 but I gotta start priming her now.

thx.

Tell her the water is drinkable unlike Mexico and plane trip is cheaper than Hawaii, which in turn, the leftover money can be spent shopping in one of the world's largest mall (The largest in the Carebeean).

The money issue is always important when considering a trip. Did I mention you don't pay taxes on food nor shopping?

We have many fine reastaurants and we have a Rain Forest. Plus you don't feel like a turist. Best of both worlds (Hawaii and Mexico).

http://escape.topuertorico.com/ for more info!

I can drive ya arround!

Ask Siper2 (Christopher) about PR.

Jim, those are old. The one with Miss Universe is wayyyy better!

Prog -

Leo - I'm not on IM, can't get away with that stuff here @ work.

I should start looking for a job. They've announced that they're gonna reduce our office by one head right now. I'm 99.99999588834% sure I'm not going anywhere.

I guess I'd better brush up on my 3 years of HS Spanish...shesh...it's been 10 yrs since then.

Or you could bring your RS and use it!

I do own a pizzeria and need someone in the "material handling" in the kitchen.

J/K

Better whip out them Spanish to English, English to Spanish diccionaries.

So I talked to the GF a little bit about PR and she said "what's in PR??? I want white sandy beaches, blah blah blah..."

When I said I was talking to the PR Subaru guys she said "hell no, you're gonna turn it into a car thing...I don't want that!!!"

You guys got that stuff there???

My wife always says the same thing when I take a trip but ends up having a ball!!!

Yes, we got white sandy beaches and I can also arrange a boat trip to one of our little Islands cald Culebrita (Little Sanake, but none on the Island) that is an Island Paradise!!

Just say: No taxes, Rain Forest, White sandy beaches, good nightlife, Exelent food (yes, outside my pizzeria), and my wife will cook ya guys dinner. She'll be hooked!

What does your GF do?

Arrow

She's a student @ UIC (Univ. of IL - Chicago) going for her English teaching degree. She's gonna be there forEVER...

What's the typical weather like around this time of the year. I think we want it to be an escape Chicago winter thing.

My sister's ex-boyfriend from college was from PR. He always brought back the BEST empanadas. yum yum...

The Year round is in the high 80's with a heat index in the mid to high 90's.

The lows ate in the low 80's and the ocacional cold front puts it in the high 70's.

Rain and showers last a couple of minutes.

That sounds good to me Leo. MUCH better than the low 20's/30's and snow that we've got here in Chicago right now.

A foot is nothing... It's the cold temp. that I don't care for and I've lived in the Midwest my entire life.

Today, it's clear as can be and the temp. is gonna be ~ 33/35 deg. F so alot of it will melt...then freeze. Ice is no fun when you're not on a frozen lake.
